Turbo 4gen make 413fwhp

Ok so I am posting this for a local org member who want to the dyno and made three pulls. They were 396, 398 and 413 after letting the car cool down. Mods are a stock vq30, 60-1 turbo, jwt ecu, mevi, pftb, 3inch ic piping and exhaust "no cutout used on these pulls".

I'll let the owner go into additional details about his setup encase he does not want it out there.

Vid - sorry crappy cellphone this was last minute

Thankyou tom for posting this.

Tach and Afr were not hooked up
95 nissan maxima 5 spd @ 15psi
Jwt ecu 16* timing
3.0 de
Dek lower, mevi upper (tied open) with pftb
Ngk bkr6e plugs
550cc inj's
Z32 maf
Hks bov
Tial 38mm wastegate
T4 t61 .84ar turbo @15psi
3" intercooler piping
3" exhaust
Fidanza flywheel
Clutchnet 6 puck sprung disk with 3x pressure plate
255/50/16 Dr's on z32 n/a wheels
No power steering
No ac

This was last minute (As stated above). A friend stopped by the shop yesterday and mentioned a local dyno competition. We strapped the car down straight off the highway and put down 396whp and 398whp back to back. We let the car cool down for the final 2 passes. 1st cool down run was 443whp (false reading according to dyno operator) and the final was 413whp @15 psi.
The car makes anywhere from 14.3 -15.1 psi on the street which results in no traction until third if i get on it. Im intentionaly building a "highway hero" that i plan to rev past 7400 rpms.

No valve springs, rev-up oil pump, cams to help at those rpm levels?

My car is being built in essential the same fashion, because its just not gonna put down over 300whp in 1st or 2nd, i have cams so it can breath quite easily up to 7500rpm but im capping it at 7200rpm.

Also how is that transmission holding up?

I have a built longblock that can be spun to 8k with no problem, i'll will be putting it in one of these years..lol

The tranny is still intact, to be honest it can go @ any time but it is working flawlesly @ this moment.

I see. So pretty much you just wanna see how much the stock 3.0 will take before kaboom?

the one thing im worried about is my trans, with this setup im going for i know it will easily do 400whp, its just that trans. Ontop of that i have a VLSD trans so i really dont want to lose it.

I belive i can make 500whp with the 3.0 but i dont have the time or intrest to throw another 3.0 in if i do blow it. i want to concentrate on the mods i need to support the built motor. tunning is my main concern now that i broke into the 400's

I blew third in my vlsd bout 2 yrs ago still sitting on the shelf waiting for a rebuild.. I belive you should have atleast one spare tranny @ all times regardless of how much power ur making. They will break i promise...lol

I vote that he you are ready to drop in the new motor go back to the dyno with my meth kit, a open dump pipe and turn up the boost.

This is what I like to see, making power on 3.0's, 3.5's are overrated lol. People should stop saying "so u going to boost till it blows", "it can blow any minute", etc... I truly believe a 3.0 with strong head studs can reliably make near 550hp.

You stole the words right from my mouth, I haven't seen anyone find the true (Not headgasket) limit of a 3.0- who's bent rods without tuning/deto issues

3.0s probably are slightly stronger than 3.5s but with boost.....i dont see how it can be much stronger than a 3.5. I like 3.0s, and im boosting a 3.0 but just being realistic about it. There is a 350Z putting down 600whp stock block. doesnt really explain guys blowing up at 350whp.

That 600hp stock block Z probably never sees the road or is detuned for the road.
