I searched the entire website and hadn't found this posted anywhere so I thought I'd share and sorry if this is a repost I tried to do my research.
The iphone has built in accelerometers and this application (Dynolicious) utilizes them and some inputs such as weight to calculate 0-60 times and 1/4 times, similar to a g-tech. The app is only $13 and I haven't purchased it yet but I figured I would see if anyone on here had used it and where their thoughts were. And just for clarification I'm not trying to say that this is as good or better than a real dyno which of course is not the case. I understand there has to be some degree of variation from the real numbers but from what others have said about it, it works pretty well. There is another application that does the same thing but this one has seen more attention for one reason or another. I would love to see more tests of this compared to a real 1/4 run and dyno. Any takers?
Yeah i used it. The only thing is it requires you to do a FULL 1/4 mile run. So basically for most of us, foot to the floor for 14 seconds and around 100mph. Kinda hard to do especially in some areas. The G meter is pretty cool, we tested it in my car, i took a left turn at 110kmh and managed to pull 1.03G. A little on the optimistic side, but its not overly in-accurate. If one were to properly mount it, and do a 300ft skidpad, im sure you could get some numbers similar to the mags.
I think some mag tested it with there V-Box and when setup properly, it came within .2-.3 to there test equipment.

It relys solely on the weight of the vehicle and uses that figure plus the data from the accelerometers to figure out everything else.
You need to make sure you have the weight of the car right though first or else it wont be accurate.

So any thoughts in where to go to get your car weighed?
One video suggested a truck weight station which seems like a good option however I don't really have one close to me.

city dump ftw. they said I was right at 3k though....so I'm wondering if they go in like 20lb increments or if he was rounding or something...anyone know how accurate those scales are?

try to find a CAT certified scale,.. they are extremly accurate to the pound i believe,.. truckers have to use them to determine the legality of their freight
