So, is it LOUD?
96sleeper also saw similar gains when he got his cut-out, pre VQ35 swap, post 5MT swap.

yoo, at idle it rumbles identical to a 5.0, its beautiful. Yea it gets prety loud when you rev it. During the dyno runs, there was a guy that had just gotten there as I started my first pull, and the dude asked if I was boosted (because of the change of tone around 4500- when the IM really starts to flow), it really does sound like spoolup lol.
To the dyno n00bs, do not be concerned about my a/f during my cutout run. Remember its a cutout, so SOME of the fumes are still going through the regular catback, so it will READ leaner, just like an "exhuast leak" would.
This is the very device I used...
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Beware, ground clerance is of an issue here. I havent scrapped it on anything since its at about the same level as the SFCs, but I do go over speedbumps slower and sideways just as a precaution.

Just curious what were the SAE #'s? IBmyinboxdoesnthaveanydrfsinit
I don't like too much noise, in fact really none (at best MINIMAL) at all. With that said, I don't think I'll be doing this as of now . This is coming from a dude that is thinking about cams vs changing his muffler for probably the same amount of gain .

So, did you figure out was up w/your #'s? Or is this part of zeh .org Christmas gift? i.e. dynoing said VQ35 spacers & polished UIM/LIM/Plenum?

Seriously man (all of you contributors), I gotta hand it to you, you've really taken the time to prove/disprove certain myths/facts. Which only adds fuel to my flamethrower whenever we get a thinking otherwise w/o any proof. . .

Guess who. I ain't dead yet!
Damn... I get stuck in Jamaica and come back to find everyone from South florida doin big things. I've been cookin up something in secret for a little while now too. It involves boost and an A33. Only problem is I just lost my job. So untill I get another one, cash saved up to continue the project is used for school and bills. I was expecting something to get in my way with my luck... lol
Time to hide for another month or so again...

- Im at work bro, I got enough time to post up the stuff and then i go do stuff around here, lol. I'll send em over when I get home. SAE #s are 250.56WHP/ 239.61WTQ.
- Noise is of no concern here. The only time it will get noisy is when you take off the cover plate. As long as that plate is on, and theres no exhaust leak (the paper gasket is useless caca, just lay a thick bead of cooper silicone around the mating surface, let it air dry for a few hrs, and THEN put it on, it will seal with no problem), wont be any louder than a test pipe.
- gtr_rider PROBABLY wont have his surprise ready for Xmas, thats me that has a surprise for then. Hopefully he wont be too far behind me (maybe for Reyes Magos Day? lolz)
- Werd man, gotta love $35 dyno Thursdays. Been there so many times they know me by my gov't name LOL)

Ok meng, so about the same gains right..... cams= 650 for debuloz, and ~1300+ for custom tomei depending on what you want...
or $35 shipped for cutout
better yet, COMBINE the two, o0o NOW you got something serious cooking there... and you get to keep your stock muffler

But the gains are only seen when the cutout is 'working' i.e. loud as sin
I got a 15$ Saturday coming up, (15$ for 2 runs, but no playing in between)

Sheesh you got dynos coming out the ying yang. Good on ya, that curve's starting to look better!
I have a Summit racing cutout also, except mine's modified.. but I'm tired of the manual, going back to an electric. I'm gettin' old and lazy.
Only a few more months (blah I hate winter) and my 3.5 swap will join the mix... can't wait.

it's for my turbo setup of course, but I'm not about to fab up another catback to use for the 2 months I'm planning on being NA this winter.

I dunno what his catback/test pipe was like, maybe it was restrictive. I'm fairly certain my cutout didn't give much/if any gain over the Cattman 2.5" catback, based on track results. But that is on a 3.0 not a 3.5...
