heat soak

hey guys quick question. I am wondering how bad heatsoak can affect an engine. Lets say roughly in a NA application how bad can heatsoak effect the numbers? As some of you are aware i dynoed 182whp/173wtq, with the mevi tied open, now that it is functioning correctly, i plan on going back to get it re-tuned and see what it is running, but im questioning even bothering to re-dyno it.

So basically what im wondering is, how much could it have effected my dyno numbers. I did about 12 runs with the mevi closed..not even realizing it, before i made 3 passes with it open and made 177, 182 and 179. There was NO fan setup infront of the car, they said there fan was not operating correctly, although it was a cool day, i noticed my temp gauge was past the half way marker..and its always usually just under half even in the summer with the AC on.

trying to make sense of my lower numbers, my first run with the mevi closed i got like 169whp/189wtq. The torque is still low-ish but a lot closer to the right range, the car was tuned on the dyno before that run so it was still even hot, it was tuned for lo/hi throttle.

given that information, what do you think my car is capable of, i think considering the torque should be at about 189-190 with the mevi operating, as peak torque happens before the mevi opens, my whp should be slightly higher, as with almost every other mevi dyno i see (whp roughly 3-4whp more, more in some cases).

Sorry if its "bench" dynoing, well it kinda has some legitimacy to it as ive already dynoed, just wondering what numbers i should be capable of. Oh and i know im going to hear just re-dyno it, but remember im only 18, i dont have a lot of money to go spend another 100$ for 3 dyno runs...i wish i did though

Thanks guys!

Unless you have real data it's hard to say. real data as in ECT & IAT's for each run. II think you could put down more power with a cooler engine, but that's just you know common thoughts.

I usually wait 10 minutes in between runs and turn up the cooling fans on high.

This isn't how I do it, but it will work with your 4th gen:
DIY Thermostat Temp Mod & Coolant Fan Temp Mod

Should also add, i didnt even notice these on my dyno sheets. the humidty was 58%, temp was 63F, 30.47in.hg barometic pressure i presume.

Hopefuly ill be able to re-dyno and see what i can produce on a better day.

Correction factor should take care of that.
