New Dyno Numbers: 00VI / Greddy EU

Dyno Day: June 23, 2007

Dont you hate those times you go out and buy something or spend money on something, and you end up feeling like you just wasted your money!

I honestly have no idea, of whats up with my latest dyno ?? But thought I would share the results anyways, and see if anyone can figure this one out.

Also I just walked in the door so, its going to take me some time to figure out foot lbs of torque, converting kilowatts to horsepower will be simple enough. If anyone else is bright enough to convert my torque numbers to foot lbs like we use in the states feel free to do the math.

The Dyno Chart - 00VI / Greddy EU

The Numbers - 00VI/Greddy EU
180.6 HP @ 6501 rpms

Old Dyno Run - USIM/ Technosquare ECU
196.2@ 5497 rpms - 204 ft lbs of torque

Conclusion

What can I say ? Im gutted and have no idea how my numbers turned out like this ? It almost makes me think there could be such a thing as a bum dyno run ! Im running 13.6 in the 1/4 mile in my sleep (knocked off an easy .4 on average.

This was the same style dyno as my previous dyno. All I can think of is that maybe different dynos have very different results, but im my case, could it be off by this amount ? Or maybe the shop didnt stomp the gas to the floor ?

Have a video will put it up, you dont want to miss the 180 hp maxima that runs 13.6 !!! ROFL !

Differ dyno = differ numbers. You can only compare dynojet to dynojet(somewhat ) So it is hard to see the gains, how much did you're ET go up?

i went from running low 14's with a 13.9 once, and more low 14's and hit a 13.8x with usim. with my new setup i ran straight 13.6 runs until we were rained out. So she could do a 13.5 once in awhile or 13.4 maybe. But just not sure how it could be so off or seem so low. i guess at the end of the day, i will take this figure and keep running mid 13's ? it will be fun for people to ask, so how much hp you got ? i can boldly say 180 !!!

That is strange. I could just be the dyno run. You can always get a second opinion from a different shop preferable one with a dyno jet.

You have the run files by any chance?

Dude you really need to get on a DYNOJET. LOL.

Take both of those last 2 dynapack dyno numbers and throw them out the window. There is absolutely NO way you are under 200-205 SAE whp. The track results speak for themselves, not to mention I was in your car tuning it so I know what it pulls like.

BTW I looked at your PM - the settings are different between the 2 dynos so no surprise there, the axle ratio will affect the calc if I'm not mistaken. I REALLY doubt either one of those dynos was set up properly for your car. Even IF for some reason your ECU was pulling timing on this last dyno run (KS maybe?) and you were down on power you'd still have more than 180 probably.

Like I said, NO way in hell you are less than 200-205 whp with the mods you have and the car running properly. Just trust me on this, have I led you wrong with anything else I've told you in the last couple years?

EDIT: the axle ratio should be 3.647 if I'm not mistaken. And if the power #'s are calculated how I think they are then that means that your first set of numbers on the other dynapack should have been 199 hp. This last run used an even worse axle ratio, so with the correct one your number would have been 140.7 kW or about 189 hp. Either way, what I said above still applies. Throw out these numbers and forget about them. Variability between non-DynoJet dynos is huge. They're only useful for tuning, not to establish comparable numbers. The track results are proof enough that you gained a lot with the 00VI/EU and I have no doubt you're over 200 whp.
