Got the car dynoed. I currently have tilleys or emmas 1997 maxima with the 3.5L JWT cams, obx headers and Evo catless catback.
216tq @ 4700 196-200 from 2800-3500 200-205 3500-4000 205-216 4000-4700 then dives down to about 170 by 5700
199hp @ 4950 pretty much linear line but then tops and stays flatfrom 4950-5700
The car is tuned to run really lean so it gets better gas mileage. (28mpg highway) Tilley had it tuned this way for emily since she was driving it alot. Its previous numbers were something like 238whp and 225tq. Tilley is going to retune the car for more power since it really looses it after 4700.
The lack of more information in this thread is depressing.
1.) How 'lean' is it? During normal driving, lean means >14.7:1. I say this because you state it was done to get better gas mileage, but this would have no relevance here because the ECU is set to keep as close to stoich as possible, so 'tuning' lean in the sense as you described has no meaning. On a more understandable note, if you meant lean (such as 14.0:1 2 WOT) this could be a cuplrit of the low power output. Domino affect, lean = high temps-->pinging-->ECU says retard timing--> power is greatly affected.
But I think we all know right now that there is something wrong. What's needed is data. AFR, timing, runfiles.
What type of dyno was it on? Ambient conditions?

Fixed for free.

I dont know how lean it is since there was no a/f readouts. Im just going by what tilley had told me when he was tuning the car with the afc driving. The guys dynoing the car had said that they could tell it was running lean up top, could hear the pinging and the way the hp curve looks is not normal of the vqs they have dynoed before. I emailed the place to see if they could send me the run files or even just a computer version of the dyno so i could get it posted on here for you to look at. It was done on a dyno jet 61.68*F, 29.57 in-Hg, humidity:23% SAE.98 and the CF: SAE smoothing 5.

What grade of fuel are you burning? You have an AFC, how what are tha corrections (%/RPM)? People really shouldn't play with these things w/o knowing what the true AFR is. Also, X AFR isn't alway best/optimal with Y set-up, etc.
