228HP/ 228TQ 2002 Auto with Headers.

Well I got my Cattman's headers installed and tune with the VAFCII. After I drove away I could tell the big difference.

My Maxima is runing 225HP/211TQ with:
Berk Intake, Cattman Headers, Cattman FastCat, Cattman Cattback.

I had my car Dyno last year in July, and made 202HP/200TQ with:
Injen Intake, Cattman Y-pipe, Cattman FastCat, Greddy Cattback.

I gain 23HP/ 11TQ with the Headers.

I never did a dyno run while stock, that was my mistake i should have done that first.

Here is my current dyno. I need to look for the A/F sheet. There was an accident inside my car last saturday night and had to take everything out and clean it. I will look for it when I get home from work today.

Here is my dyno from July.

Nice Gains with the headers. But the TQ #s seem kinda of low especially on a Dynapack?
BTW what Gen are the cattman headers?

nice gains...thats about 215-220whp on a dynojet...not too shabby for an auto...but i was looking more into the 230whp range...especially after you got it tuned...

I thought it would around 230 too, the dyno operator said it's probably doing 230-235 in other dynos.

Now that you mention it, I'm curious now. I will see this weekend If can go to a different shop and get different dyno reading. To see if it's still in the same range, I will definitely keep the A/F sheet this time, I have no idea where the other is.

But that extra gain I got from the headers is beautiful. When I'm in the tollway at night heading home with no traffic I go WOT and love it.

Make sure it's a DynoJet Model 248.

In order to compare to the majority of people on here, the DJ is best for that comparison. if you do go to a DJ...

Does it have to be a 248? or can a 224x work just as good? There seems to be one 248 but it's a bit far away from where I am.

Well this morning, I went to Carboy Racing in Houston to have my car dyno on a DynoJet. My first pull was 219.9 HP / 220.3, Benny who is the dyno operator was able to tune it and after the 7th pull he manage to make 228.8 HP/ 228.6 TQ.

I did feel the difference after the tune, the car takes of faster now. He did tell me there seems to be a problem at 3.9 RPM he could notfigure it out since he did not have much time analyzing the problem. I just went for a dyno and ended up doing a quick tune.

Here is the dyno sheet, sorry it a bit small I will try to make it bigger later today. Also as for the run files, I brought my USB but they could not do it. Their system was in a odd place and the only way to save was in a floppy. I will swing by them again porbably monday or tuesday and get the run files.

Beautiful torque curve. What's happening @ 3900 RPM is the VIAS, don't worry too much about it. Go a little leaner (13.5) everywhere and get more power.

What gear was this in?

He was in 3rd gear, I will let him know when I head back over there for another dyno after the spacer are installed. Can something be done about the VIAS?

With the headers my car was screaming when it was gettign near the redline, I thought my ears were gona pop lol.

Not really, it's just the nature of the engine and it's intended design.

You are making pretty good power up top

How the hell did it not downshift @ 3k in 3rd?

Oh ok, when he said there was something going on there. I thought it was something bad that needed to be fix. He did shifted from 1st to 2nd and 3rd.

Many more, I got the spacer and BBK coming my way. Well the BBK may take a little longer. But my next major mod was either getting a VB mod with a TQ converter http://sgpracing-store.stores.yahoo....raupvabof.html or a whole new transmission http://sgpracing-store.stores.yahoo....praautrup.html.

I know in those links are for the 350 but when I talked to the owner he said they could do it for the max and the it would cost just be a bit less.

I see what your saying now. Now I'm guessing thats the Bosch 82mm MAF in your pic?

It sure is. I've actually changed my set-up recently and hope to dyno sometime soon.

Seems as if you have everything in place (VAFCII for correction) so, it's all a matter of buying, installing, and tuning.

Could you please link me where can i get this maf? I tried google and bosch auto part site and can not find it.

I'm thinking of doing this this weekend coming up with my spacer and a re-ture. Well I'm hoping to get my car back from the dealership in time. I taking it back Monday morning to have the bumper re-painted since its starting to crack, even tho this was a brand new paint job.
