Two Nissan Max 6spd dynos!

Just came back from a 750 mile round trip to visit ynot411...it was pretty cool but too bad I couldn't slam on it on the interstate cuz I have no hood pins for my CF hood...oh yeah I only mustered a 25.5 mpg @ 75mph totally cruising... oh well...lets get to the dynos!

Car: Steven88's 2k2 Nissan Maxima 6spd 46k miles
Mods: Berk/Apex-i, Cattman Headers, Budget Testpipe, Cattman Bpipe, Stock Muffler, V-AFCII

This is run file #6...I don't have the files with me...I just printed this one out for now...ynot411 will pick up the files later on this week...but this is my 6th run and I'm already at 245whp with room for improvement....my baseline (very first run without touching anything) was actually 240whp....

This is another run thats worth printing out...it's actually my last run of the day at 35....the AFR is a little flatter...I can't directly compare 6 and 35 cuz I dont have the run files...but I can say for sure, I know run 35 would score a higher whp than run 6's 245whp...but since run 35 my engine was majorly tired out, it only mustered out a 243whp....I'm thinkin 248/250 whp & wtq with a cool engine and run 35's AFR (my current setting on the AFC)...

Overall i'm happy...I wasn't expecting these #'s especially with the stock exhaust....I sold my cattman to Maxboost925 (hope you enjoy it)....thanks to ynot411 for the tuning....but damn, you killed my wallet driving up here .....He should step in here soon enough to upload his print outs and run files...Enjoy!

Those are some damn nice numbers... I'm curious to see what the AF looked like before tuning as well. Did you do the tuning yourself? When you get those run files, you know what my email is...

ynot411 did the tuning....it took us so freakin long to get the AFR right becuz the sniffer was screwing around with us....like it was off by a certain margin...we didn't realize it until later....man my car took a serious beating that afternoon

my baseline was actually lean...pretty weird but I thought I was actually running rich.... guess I was wrong

dynoing is pretty fun! I think I'mma call some local shops around here and see if I can do some tuning for cheap....

Why are you guys getting SAFCII when a VAFCII has twice the adjustment points.

I was just speaking in general. Last time I made the statement about the VAFCII being more benificial and stated the reasons the dude called BS and then his buddies came around the thread talking crap saying I was wrong.

241.45 whp @ 249.11 tq

I tuned the day after steven88 did. See scanned in graph below. Not as nice as steven88's but good enough.

In addition the fuel curve is not as nice because the car was cooled for about 30 mins. before the run. That is the reason for the jagged power/tq curve. However, it is my best Max Power/Tq so far.

You need to fix the vacuum lines on your VI. It isn't working.

Also, you need to set your A/F to about 13.5:1 or close to it and keep the graph as FLAT as possible. You lose a little power every time the A/F graph makes a jump (up or down).

Set the NE points in 400rpm increments, 6400 being the top. Put a little larger space on the lower NE points as you get below.

example:
1000, 2000, 2800, 3200, 3600, 4000, 4400, 4800, 5200, 5600, 6000, 6400

Sometimes it's better to make the top NE points even closer than that at 200rpm increments.

Hey matt, thanks for the tips....I didn't do the tuning....ynot411 did...but he taught me how to work the AFCII so next time I'll ask around dyno shops if i can rent the rollers...and just do the tuning myself....since the AFCII is real easy to work...

I'm sure my vaccum lines are working....I mean I been driving around AS IS since i went to north cal....and when I rev above 4k you can clearly hear a BIG switch over in the VI....tq does seem a little low...but prob becuz my engine is heat soaked

I'm assuming you're talking about my graph. I might go tune tomorrow to fix that. I will take your advice and set at those points...concentrating on the top end. It sux just having 12 points whereas steven88 has 24 points I was able to tune. I'm satisfied with how I tuned his and will continue working on mine.

My vac hoses have been switched back. The run graph that you see is the engine cold not reflecting the run right after where the Power Curve and TQ were much more consistent.

My VI is working....I know so becuz I can hear it...and my vaccum lines are correct....it doesn't take rocket science to figure out if the vaccum lines are working either....

And my TQ is still higher than ynot411 in the mid-range....look at 3k RPMs....my tq is in the middle of 225wtq....if u look at ynot411's his 3k tq is at 200....if anything, his VI is jacked up...not mine

i'm guessing 4th... the A33B has a speed limiter that would not let 5th finish @ 160MPH +.
