does it make any sense to start cleaning?
We're gonna see 63 degrees this weekend and I can borrow my sister's garage. Does it make any sense to start really cleaning my maxima this weekend, knowing we're not done with winter yet in Northeast PA? I'm chomping at the bit. If you were me, how much would you do this early in the year? I should be more specific... I've never properly cleaned my car, and after reading some of these stickys, I want to start from the ground up, and do the whole 9 yards this year - wash, clay, protect, wax, polish. Just wondered if I could start now, and catch up with it later if we get interrupted with more winter after this warm spell.
TIA
TIA

Yeah I just don't want to go through all this elbow grease if another snowstorm or two (and the mucky roads) would render my car back in this same state of yuckness. If I wash, clay, polish and then wax, I'm hoping when spring really comes around for good, I can wash and wax and count this weekend as a head start.

i debated the same thing since we magically got 10' of snow here in northern ct last weekend after some 50 degree weather...f new england....but finally decided to do it anyway, i washed, waxed, did the rims and tires, vaccumed, leather cleaned and did the whole interior...even set up an appointment at best buy to get the electronics cleaned......it was sunny and 62 all day yesterday and low and behold last night we had a "freak" rainstorm....needless to say i was pissed but i needed to get the salt and weird new chemical off the car anyway (apparently ct is too poor for sand now)...good luck

Just Cleaned the exterior
We just got a little snow on tuesday but the amount of crap they put on the roads turned my car white. Here in CO it reached about 55-60 today and with the day off I had the chance to get out and wash and wax my car man it looks nice. Tomorrow i'm gonna do the interior after my sons baseball game. So yes it makes sence to start cleanig anytime you have the chance to.

yea it proceeded to snow the day after it rained....but it did make the wash and wax i did this past weekend easier so id say start cleaning as soon as you can...i even gave her a wash during the winter on a few days that reached the upper 50s

I would do it. Like you said, it would give you a head start if the weather does turn crappy. We're getting a break from the rain here in Oregon and I'm going to detail mine. Even if the weather turns crappy again, I know that it the paint is protected and it will be easier to clean when the weather breaks again. Good luck and have fun making your Max beautiful.

Off topic but sorta on...toady i was at emissions getting my baby tested (she failed) and the guy who came up to me after and said "Is this your max" to which i responded yes. He went on to say that it was an extremely clean looking car and that he was a huge fan of nissans. He kept saying the car looked immaculate for being almost 10 years old and that I must slave for hours over it....its comments like that that make me feel good about the time and effort I put into my car
