Brake Calipers

On my calipers I have what appears to be a white, fuzzy, mold looking stuff. Anyone ever seen this? I know it sounds crazy but its even kind of fuzzy to the touch. Insulation? It looks crappy.

Are you in an area where they salt the roads or near the coast? Sounds almost like salt deposits. Also do you have it on all the calipers?

I live in Arkansas and I'm not sure if the pads are ceramic or not. I just bought the car.

It might be from the acidic cleaner they use on the rims and brakes when they wash them at the dealership too. Should go away somewhat with time.
