What's the best way to clean my headliner?

I have an '08 with a smudge that i would like to try and remove. What's the best way to do this. The headliner has a texture to it and I'd rather not make it worse!

when I bought my maxima, the headliner had streaks of dirt or something on it. I used carpet cleaner (foam) and sprayed it on the terry cloth then gently worked the spot on the headliner. After a while I just rubbed the carpet cleaner foam on the streak itself...it did not take care of all of the spots but my son noticed the difference right away....funny thing is he did not know I had cleaned it...you might want to spot treat to confirm it does not change the dis-color the headliner but I think it should be okay... just don't use a brush or anything abrasive like that to scrub it...

Spot treat with Resolve. When the greasy mechanics slap a new registration sticker on the windshield of my mom's Accord, they leave stains on the cloth A pillar. Resolve cleans it right up.
