Extremely Rough Paint And Windows!! Suggestions?

I bought my new daily driver in July, a 2001 Infiniti G20. The paint and windshield were extremely rough so I finally got around to using a clay bar on it last weekend. I had used a clay bar on two other cars in the past with amazing results so I was expecting the same this time. Well I don't know what is on this car but the clay barely helped. The clay bar did remove a lot but the paint is still really rough.

The windshield is so bad that every time I turn on the wipers in the rain it sounds like they are being dragged across sandpaper!! And when I'm driving towards sunlight it looks like there are millions of little dots in the windshield. In addition to the clay bar I've tried all sorts of glass cleaners on the windows and they make no difference. I'm wondering if anyone knows what could be on this cars paint and windows and how I can get it off?

Use this for the glass

And re-clay your car some more. What color car is it and what type of clay are you using? If it's a lighter color, then try using a coarser clay.

While you are at it, use some Autoglym Glass Polish.

I'd suggest using a more coarse clay bar to remove heavier amounts of contaminants. Even if your car is black, yes it will cause some swirling and minor RIDS but nothing a little polish/compounds can't take care of.

The car is silver so it is a light color. I used the Meguiars clay bar this time and I used Clay Magic in the past but I can't imagine that would make a difference. Where can I get a courser clay?

I used to use powder toilet cleaner on the windshield of my first car that seemed to work very well just make sure its bleach free I cant think of the brand but you should be able to find it at any grocery store. I would wet the window with the hose and put some of the powder on a wet towel and go to town on it. It did an awsome job gettin all the dirt out of the pits in the glass plus it will clean off any wax left from automatic car washes which makes the window real streaky. As for the clay just keep at it the more times you do it the smother it will get it took me like 5 times over my hood to get all the crap out. Try prewashing with dawn to remove all the wax that may help.
