Detailing gurus - Need help on removing the pinstripe color residual

Here are some pictures of what I am referring to. I took off all of the pinstripe but there is still some color residual left on the car. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it off? I tried using mineral spirits and that didn't do anything. Also, the car has never been wrecked and such.

Sort of. It looks like the pinstriping is still there but it isn't. If you look at the first picture you can see that the first stripe is split if half sort of.

Try using the goo gone first then clean it off good and wax over the area a few times and see if it disappears any.

Believe it or not, get the Meguiars clay bar kit and a bottle of Meguiars NXT 2.0 Speed Detail and scrub away. It won't hurt your paint like paint thinner will and it's safe for the car anyway. Best way I found how to do it is to bead 1/2 the clay bar in your hand and instead of following Meguiars directions to use the clay bar, spray the ball of clay in your hand then put the clay bar onto the car. short up and down motions. It's very time consuming, but IT WILL WORK.

GOOD LUCK

Well the Goo Gone did nothing. Guess I'll try the clay bar method but I don't see how it's going to work.

If that is ghosting from the pinstrip, you are SOL. Polishing *may* reduce improve it somewhat but probably not fix it completely.

Can I have ghosting while still seeing the color from the pinstripe? I'm wondering if a good polish, like a polish for removing deep scratches, with a PC will get it off.

I guess the good news is if it is ghosting, you have a good template to follow when you put new pinstripes on.
