I got some from the shop that tinted my windows. That's what they recommended for cleaning/polishing/sealing the tint film.

Oh and do you use you use it on your plastic gauge cover? That's primarily why I'm looking for it. Well, that and my computer screen but I 've been using swiffers and it still seems to scratch it if only a slight bit.

It works great on the clear plastic gauge cover....it works on anything plastic. Use a quality MF towel. Anything else and you'll risk scratching.

So I should look for some uber soft MF's then. Do you have any recommendations. OTC would be great, but if I have to score em online, then ding diddly do, I guess that's what I'll do.
I've ordered from Pakshak. They have very good stuff.
To see how 'soft' a MF is, do the CD test. Wipe a CD from the center to the edge with medium pressure. A good quality MF will not scratch at all. Lesser quality ones will.

ahhh, my roomate just dried one of my super softs with a dryer sheet. (he needed to use the dryer and didn't know) Guess that one is out of the mix eh.

Ah just scored some Plexus today. ($13 bucks....doh) but I can't wait to use it and I have a feeling that my plastic gauge cover and H/U face will thank me later. For those of you that can't find it at a tint shop, try a motorcycle shop (which is where I found mine). Ironically, it was right next to the tint shop that I was at today. Apparently, it does wonders on Helmet face shields as well so if you don't have a tint shop near you, try a motorcycle shop.
any Harley Davidson Dealership most likely carry it, that where I found mine.

oh btw, I tried it the other day and it's fantastic. My H/U looks 10 times better and it worked great on the plastic gauge cluster. Big fan. I'll have to look into a product called Zooke too. The guy at the tint shop said that stuff works great as well as it has even more fillers than the Plexus. I've got some scratches on my gauge cluster that I'd like to cover up. Any of you guys have any experience with that stuff other than using it on your glasses or helmet visors?
Novus 3 step scratch remover works great on gauges, and radio faceplate LED. It did wonders for me (had 2 gnarly scratches on the radio from hauling lumber). than sprayed plexus over as an Xtra sealant.
Plexus is AWESOME!
I keep some around for my motorcycle and helmets. --does ANYTHING smell better than this stuff???!!-- ....okay MAYBE Meguiar's NXT Wax...but it's a CLOSE draw!!
Have to say...hadn't thought of using this on my Max -- so I just went and sprayed some on my instrument cluster plastic. WOW!
It actually removed most if not ALL of the scratches and cleaned it better than it's looked since it was new....amazing this stuff!

**A cheaper option for cleaning TINT film is any spray window cleaner that DOES NOT contain ammonia, which is the main ingredient in most window cleaners like windex**

Yeah, you can pretty much get that stuff at any motorcycle store. I keep small can in my backpack when I ride to keep the helmet and front plastics clean. That stuff is awesome and works on pretty much anything.

OT: I tried out Plexus recently while I was detailing with a buddy, and this stuff works really well.
Been in Atlanta for last 11 years and the SE forum on occasion but I'm in Vermont now so I reckon I'll have to pop in the Ne forums and see what's up. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's gonna be hard to find any Vermonters in there though.

i never use the dryer for my MFs. too much lint in there. i even run the rinse with them a second time before hanging. guess having a black max makes me paranoid.
love the Plexus. I should use it more often though. 1 can is lasting me forever. ooh i wonder if it would help the snow slide off the topsheets of my snowboards

I hear ya on the paranoia (I've got a black max too) and it's pain in the can to keep the bastard clean. Impossibly so since I now live on a dirt road.
And let me know how the Plexus works on your boards. I might have to slap a little bit on my ski's if it works. A good ole carnauba works pretty good on them though.
