removing old tint
I got my tint done at a pretty good place but for some reason the back window is now showing up with purple spot (not air bubbles). I went back to the guy who did it and he said he will redo it but I'm worried he'll mess up the antenna. The defrosters I don't use b/c if you do it will mess up the tint. I just don't want him to mess up the antenna I have. He told me if it does mess up he will not be responsible for replacing it and if I do need to replace it he will only install his kind of antenna which is the 12 inch one that would go like on the hood. Then I would have to pay for the install as well. ANy suggestions?

prices depend on area, and tint brand. I tint cars for a living, Defrost will NOT mess with the tint. When film is put on the back window most places use a heat gun thet is 50 times hotter than what those defrost lines will ever get. To remove tint on a back window without messing up the antenna or defrost lines you should get a steamer (and no not a floor steam cleaner ) and hold the steam on one corner of the film, this heats up the glue again and makes it a lot easier to pull. Once you start to pull keep the area nice and hot. If some glue gets left on the glass (there normally is around the defrost lines) get a spray bottle and baby shampoo. Mix the 2 (3 or 4 drops of johnson and johnson will be fine, you don't need a lot). Then get a fine grade wire brush pad (as fine as you can find so not to scratch the window) and scrub the crap out of that window. Get ALL of the glue off, look for the smallest pieces of glue because it will show up clear as day in the replacement film. Hope this helps!!
