Looking to obtain the stock matte look on my '04 dash

I made the mistake of using armorall on my '04 max's dash, and now I am trying to get it off and obtain the original matte look. I used cleaner, both lexol leather cleaner and some other crap i bought. It looks better but now its gettign a little spotty, like I can still see the old oils and crap spread out over it.

What can I use to get all the crap out but still keep protectants on it?

thanks.

Amorall used to make a matte finish protectant, but they don't anymore. They do make a cleaner that leaves a matte finish (that's what I use on my 04 max dash). You might try that, it should clean the dash and leave more of a matte finish.

If you ever use a protectant that seems to give you a finish that is too shiny, try buffing it lightly with a microfiber cloth. Sometimes this will help even after it has dried, but usually buffing it a bit just after it is applied helps.

You can also wipe it down a bit with some dish detergent solution. Just make sure you rinse too.

i use either black majic wipes that leave a matte finish (they are only available in wipes) or 303 aerospace protectant, which btw is wonderful to use on anything/everythign plastic or rubber.

I used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser on my dash yesterday. I took everything off and left my dash like it was brand new.

I recommend 1Z Cockpit Premium. It is a MATTE finish. Click Click here for 1Z Cockpit Premium It is made to leave a matte NON shiney finish. It will cut through the Arourall. It might take two times but I am sure you will LOVE it.

Get a scouring pad called the "Dobie", they are with the dish sponges.

Use this with your favorite interior cleaner (6:1 water:woolite works well).

That will clean all the old ArmorAll off so you can start over.

303 is also a good matte finish protectant. The major advantage is high UV protection.

Yes, I vote for 303. Expensive, but worth it. I use it on all my door seals and under the hood to give the engine cover a "like new" appearance.

Justr use the magic eraser, it does the job 10 fold and it its not as abrasive like a dish scouring pad.
