Title & License plates

Hello, I bought my maxima a month ago and still don't have my license plates, title, and registration. I bought the car from a used car dealership and every time I call asking for my stuff they say they don't have it yet. They also had to give me another temp. plate because the first one expired. They say the "other" dealership lost the title or something like that and they are waiting on them for the title. When I paid for the car including the fee's for this stuff I was told I would have everything in 10 days and it's been like 45. I'm in NJ. What can I do to get my license plates, title and registration now?

Whats the dealerships name? If the car is in your name, and the title is in your name, just wait for a lil' over a week ,and they should have it, if the car is still in the dealerships name, and the title is still in the dealersips name, demand to speak to the owner of the dealership, and just wait. Usually the owners are more nicer, and faster than the employee's.

that sucks man. over a month? i got my car from a used car dealer and the title came from jersey, only took 14 days, and the temporary registration lasts 15 days.
something is going on, you should definitely go to the dealer and talk to the owner. if he gives you a bunch of BS, threaten to call up the BBB. once you mention the BBB, things usually get done right.

Thanks for the help guys. I started the thread because I don't know any of the legal stuff related to this problem. The used car dealership that I bought it from said that the other dealer has the title. Maybe they lost it. In the morning I will call the dealer I bought it from and see if they say they still don't have it. If not then I will ask for the name of the other dealership so that I can try calling them. I got pulled over by DT's and they told me the car was registered to the dealership I bought it from. When I call I will ask them if I should call the local police or the BBB and see what they say to that.
