ultrabrightlights.com - I'm not happy at all.

I ordered a McCulloch HID kit from uhohitzmikey (Mike) who is apparently the owner of ultrabrightlights.com. For almost two months the 6000k kit was working fine, but about a week ago, one of the ballasts went dead for no apprent reason. No problem I thought, they have a 1 year warranty, so I'm covered. I emailed him and he said that he could exchange the ballast for a 20 dollar shipping charge plus I was to ship him the dead ballast first. I wasn't particularly happy about the fact that I was to pay shipping on his defective product, but I agreed. (This was about 5 days ago) I inquired about his shipping address 3 times with him not responding, so here I am, with a 340$ HID kit sitting on my desk.

Well, if anyone knows where he dissappeared to, it would be appreciated. I must have missed the memo regarding their quality (lack of I should say). I realize it is a bit late now, but since I payed through paypal via a credit card, would contacting them about the whole situation be worthwhile?

If you charged it, you should be able to get your money back. Contact your CC. Screw paypal, they don't do **** for you.

I have a pair of McCullough and everything has been fine so far.

Well, he got back to me last night actually, so all is well for now. I'll update you guys as the process of returning the ballast gets further.

If some of these guys do some research at www.hidforum.com the would have found that the kit is garbage.

If you guys want quality HID's, you either have to get projectors from a BMW or Audi. If you want aftermarket kits, you have to buy Catz which is not being sold in this country anymore.

Yeah, live and learn I suppose... Im kinda derailing my own thread here but does anyone know how involved it would be to install an OE hella HID bulb and ballast set, Looking at this website http://hidtech.com/products they have a good price on the products, but I'm just worried about how well it would fit into the headlight housing. Obviously there will be some cutting of wires involved, but its a small price to pay for reliability.
