I was wondering if there are any good places to buy parts in Toronto.
I am talking about a store with aftermarket parts with prices that are competitive to the prices on Ebay.
For example: I went in search of quotes for a set of Illuminas for my 97 max and the quotes I recieved were atleast $100 more than the lowest price on ebay (currently ebay sells them at around $550 cdn shipped)
I've only had one reply to my PM. M1rag3, above, told me about OptionJDM in Markham. www.optionjdm.com. Other than this, not too much luck. Hoping for more replies soon. Maybe we can even build a list for different provinces and cities to obtain aftermarket stuff at competitive prices.
Speedtech isn't cheap, but they are one of the few solid stores out there.
Autopartsway.ca I don't really think of as an after market store, more of just a shot in the dark they might have a Maxima part.
Have you checked Performance Improvements? Not cheap either, but very well known.
Basically you have to come to terms with the fact eBay can at times be your friend, but isn't always the answer to savings. Keep in mind a lot of those prices you see on eBay are lower because the sellers know you have to take shipping and taxes and sometimes duties in to account.
Then you have the sellers who are seemingly selling cheaper vs. local retail but really aren't. For example, you think you've hit the jackpot when everyone is selling a part for say $100, but you find it for $35, then realize shipping is $80 lol.
In the end, whether you go eBay or local, it's all going to be relative. Sellers source their parts from the same handful of suppliers, which means they all have to essentially pay the same cost to their supplier - both will come out roughly the same in the end.

don't forget that you will have to pay brokerage fees for most parts shipped when bought from ebay so you won't be really saving any money. 100 dollars savings will be eaten up by fees and taxes.

Thanks Hadman and Knight.
The guy at Speedtech was very helpful but like you said, it ain't cheap.
I bought a set of 18's with rubbers on ebay for about $1200 cdn including shipping and the duties were another $200. I wonder how much the duties would run me on a set of struts.
It all depends on the shipper you're dealing with on eBay. Some are willing to help you with the duties and custom fees, others just don't care. Knight is definitely right about brokerage fees and customs and in the end you will pay the same price. Couple months back I ordered new set of rotors and pads all around (~70lbs). Had them shipped to my door with no customs/takes or brokerage fees. It all depends on who you're dealing with.
Depending on where you live, it might be better for you to drive down to Niagra Falls one weekend and pick them up there.
Also remember that exchange rate is pretty horrible these days, and eBay might not be your friend.
As for local shops, try Tires23 in Mississauga.
Autopartsway is great. It's mostly OEM type replacement stuff that has replacement parts for normal stuff that needs replacing....like injectors, shocks, gaskets, wheel bearings etc.... If you have a 3rd Gen, there are alot of parts available.
There are a variety of manufacturers (aftermarket), but some of these aftermarket brands were the OEM parts in the first place.
Thanks Hadman and Knight.

Send Knight a PM. I think he can source out some parts at reasonable prices. If you shop from a US Store, ask them if they can ship the parts via USPS. Brokerage will definitely be a lot less than UPS and FedEx.
I just placed an order with www.autopartsway.ca on Wednesday and received an email that parts will be delivered today. Now this is what I call service. Autoparts way Rocks!!!!!!
did you check out Max Motorsport in Mississauga, ON... they have good service, solid prices and can get parts fast. got my brakes and suspension for my 4th gen through them.
I have became fan of ordering parts online. There are lot of online places from where you can order performance parts and they are delivered at your door step. Also due to so much competition the prices are much better as well. I order my parts from Autopartsway.ca but I am sure there will be other websites as well.
Yes I heard that too that they will be opening store, but when I asked the support person last I was placing the order they said that the prices will be higher than the one online.
