Y-Pipe for a '98 Max

I am going to buy a y-pipe from another .org member in US. The y-pipe is off from a '98 and it is going onto my '98. I know there are fed vs cali spec y-pipes for the '99. I am wondering if there are any difference between the US and Canada Max for the '98?

Also, besides the y-pipe, what other parts do I need? Gasket?

Thanks.

No Difference. But make sure it isnt a cali-spec or you will have problems. Cali spec have the pre-cats built into the exhaust manifold versus the precats built into the y-pipe on non cali spec models. You should be fine though, if it is indeed from a 98!

Other then the y-pipe, you will want to go to your local nissan dealership and pick up the following:

2X 20691-38U00 (Manifold > Y-pipe gasket)
1X 20692-24U00 (Y-pipe > Cat gasket)

You may also want to pick up some nuts for the manifold that attatch to the y-pipe. The part number for those are 20602-41G00. I believe they are just generic nuts though. Probably pick them up at any auto parts store.

Anyways good luck Sunny!

Asides from that odd-ball '99 cali, all other A32 y-pipes are the same fed or cali spec.

Celsius climate controls aside, I'm assuming your talking y-pipes. Nope, no differences & your good to go.

+1 on the parts listed including the nuts, also I've found it's much easier to have a welder handy, that way you can grind the cat bolts off and tack weld the new pipe in place at the rear.

Hey Sunny, is this a stock Y-pipe that you're looking for? I have a stock '98 Y in my garage if you're interested.

Daniel, no, I was getting a Budget SS y-pipe. Right now it is sitting in my storage waiting to be installed.

yeah. I also bought a set of Tein H tech springs with Tokico Blue.

Anyone knows a good place to install the y-pipe and a muffler?

BTW, how many of these nuts do I need? If I have the y-pipe installs at a shop, will they carry those too?

A shop will replace them, they will have them and might charge you a couple bucks but I doubt it. Im re-doing mine most likely on sunday in my garage. I have a leak i think one of the crush rings didnt set right.
