After going from S-Tech's to coilovers it's hard to recommend the S-Tech's if you care about ride quality. Overall for me it was fine but going over bumps or something it jarred big time. Looking at just the looks I would go with the S-Tech's; I like the raked stance.
There are also the CMS and KSport springs which drop similar but more even.
From what I've read, the ride is harsh and all the auto-x'ers on here don't recommend them for the best handling. I'm pretty sure the Toronto roads will take their toll on your car as well with the Teins. I would go with progress since you have a 4th gen.

I'm in a 2003 Maxima with Progress Sport Springs, I cruise between Houston, Tx & Lafayette, La via I10, on a normal basis and these cars should have come from the factory with Illuminas and Progress springs! I'm running 245/40/18 and there's approx 1" of gap between the tire and the fenderlip. The ride is comfortable compliant yet firm. The is no nose dive during braking and there is minimal body roll and there's no ass squat during accelerating! The latest Progress are charcoal grey and the rear springs are revised with greater distance between the coils. My wife drives this car daily and I'm having a hard time getting her out of my ride!
looks like more people are leaning towards the progress springs... I currently have KYB GR-2's on... should i switch those out for illuminas or stick with the GR-2's?
S-Techs in terms of ride quality/handling suck from that standpoint, in terms of looks they have 1 of the lowest/nicest drops next to coilovers.
S-techs biggest problem is they are too soft, even with the weight of the car on them, the car will almost be on the bumpstops..now that is dangerous because you will be on the bumpstops almost all the time, once you step into the car, when you go over bumps, you will hit the bumpstops, which is why the ride is so bad over bumps.
Id much rather go with CMS which are ALOT stiffer or sprints which are stiffer also.
Im on eibachs and tokico blues and the ride was fine on stock rims with 55 series tires, but once i got my 235/45/17's every time i go over a bad bump it feels like im getting punched in the stomach..my buddies altima with tein basics is much better over bumps compared to my car.

i was actually thinking of going with eibach's as i didnt want that low of a drop. Eibach seemed perfect as i just wanted to go from 15" to 17" for rims also. Do you suggest that i got with something else instead?

I did some more research and actually went with the CMS springs. Even 2" drop all around and I definitely need a stiff spring as i bottom out sometimes with my current springs.
i dont think i need a 2" drop. i want like 1.4" as i do plan to drive in winter with it. What do u suggest?

I got the eibachs on my 5.5 mainly because I was also planning on driving through the winter..A lower drop like the S-techs would look nice but I would not like it at all for winter driving. With the amount of snow we got this year, I already plowed my driveway enough times to last me a while.

Xzecution'R: I actually take back my statement about grabbing the CMS's.. I bought them off their company yesterday but they sent me a reply saying there's a 4 week back order on them today.
They issued me a refund and I'm going to go with the Sprints instead. Same drop and they're stiff springs as well so we'll see how the Sprint's go.
CMS springs should be very similar to the S-Tech's; I went directly to their manufacturing building as I bought a few sets for my friends and most of their passenger car springs are 15% stiffer than OE springs. I haven't rode in a Maxima with them but on the other cars they're only a little stiffer than stock so I'd imagine the same for the Maxima in which case you'll be on the bumpstops.
I have progress springs and illuminas on my 5.5. The ride is great, though sometimes I wish I had the s-techs for the looks. THough this winter would have been terrible dropped that low.
Hope I'm not going too off topic on this, but I'm thinking of upgrading my suspension as well and have seen the odd comment in other threads regarding winter and suspension. Is winter up in Canada harsh on aftermarket struts/springs? I've seen some people mention they switch off their aftermarket stuff once winter hits.
I'm currently leaning towards Eibach w/ Illumina's but those comments I have read are making me nervous. I live in Calgary where rather then bringing out the plow, they use the salt truck. Have you guys had any problems with any set-up?
i hate those stupid salt trucks, i think eibachs or progress is fine as its only a 1.5 - 1.7 drop not too drastic as the maxima comes as a stock 4x4 lol so you should be fine. Ive met guys who have eibach with stillen kit and still drive it in winter with no problems lol.
