Well, bought those $60 HID's from hidextra.com from the Group Buy section. The lights worked for one night (about 20 min use) and then one side went out. Through troubleshooting (swapping bulbs), it was determined the bulb was bad. This is where the trouble begins.
29 Aug - HIDextra.com received the defective bulb.
03 Sep - They determine bulb is fine? Want me to respond ASAP to trouble ticket to determine what to do. I respond within the hour.
04 Sep- I called technical support during right hours, someone picks up the phone and immediately hangs up. I call right back and it just rings and rings.
05 Sep- I call again, no answer.
08 Sep - I posted another message to the trouble ticket asking for status (still no response since the initial email they sent me on 3 Sept).
09 Sep- I PM'd (Michelle) through these forums with no response at the time of this message (been about 24 hrs or so)
Needless to say, I have not been really satisfied with the service. Hopefully they respond one of these days so I can get a kit that will work.
Not sure what the problem with the lights are now, since the original good bulb will no longer light up on either side. All wired correctly and you can see the bulb trying to lite when you turn the lights on. Bah.....
i know when my HID's went askew i traced it down to the harness on the control unit. it had gotten wet and therefore corroded. maybe take a look at the connector. not that it would be corroded already, but it may be loose or something.
My normal halogens light up just fine, wouldn't a bad ground affect them too? I'm at a loss at what it could be now. All the wiring from the OEM connector to the bulbs look fine.

no the HID kit's harness should have its own ground wires that need to be grounded. unless your kit is different from mine. your halogens run off a circuit that was built into the car.
there wasnt any harness included in the kit? strange...the kit i got came with a harness. not from the same vendor though. good luck finding the problem
Get a harness to power the ballast straight from the battery! It'll cost you like $13 on ebay. Might save you hundreds in electrical repairs later down the road.
