In addition to the the SCCA Rulebook and Mouton's site this is a nice reference page. Compares Stock, Street Touring, Street Prepared, and Street Mod classes by allowed mods.

Autocross vs RoadRace

NPM just did a basic article talking a little about both for the novice. Be safe and have fun whichever you decide.

Evolution school

The biggest improvement one can make is to improve the driver. Aside from seat time, the best autocross instruction anywhere is the Evolution School.
http://www.autocross.com/evolution/

Somebody just did a summary of the school's phase 1 including a video on pg2 of how they teach. I've done both the phase 1 and 2 myself.
http://www.theracinglinemag.com/ther...lo2-school.php

And here's the school's first video. Really shows the learning involved in mastering the skills.

In car video

For anybody who hasn't autocrossed yet or thinks there's no real speed involved in dodging those little cone thingy's...

Milwaukee Natl Tour 7/2/06

And just ran across this new video. Bumper cam is kinda a new perspective from an Imprezza's point of view.

Those who want to start autocrossing and can not find any info about local events; here's a website for you:

http://www.myautoevents.com

Those who live in or around New York City can find some more info here: http://www.autox4u.com/

(I've noticed that people have a very hard time finding these websites)

Just ran across this. Dennis Grant is an autocrossing national champion in am SM AWD Talon but 90% of his tips can be applied to any vehicle.

Two pretty big clubs in CT that a lot of us (MA guys) go to. They have schedules up and stuff so if you want to get started these are great opportunities.

Fairfield County Sports Car Club: http://www.fcscc.com/
