Drove in my second autocross today.

Ran my 01 AE at Virginia Motorsport Park today in round 2 of the NASA Mid Atlantic Winter Triplecross. I think I did very well for only 2nd autocross. My first "get to know the course" lap was 64.705, my best lap was 60.740. Still running on steet tires, that's got to change soon.

Here's my best lap.

This one would have been a 59 sec or better run without the 4 sec cone penalty at the end.

wow thats a really long setup. most of the SC region course setups run an avg of 40 secs to my guess. longest one i've done was at the michelin's proving grounds. think that was over a minute something. what class are you in?

i know before he had a bad push into the corners, he probably stiffened up the rear a bit this time to get the car to rotate more. if the rear end is too planted, the car wont turn. you have to find the balance in between.

good job man!

Thanks, it was alot of fun. Currently I run in Novice class. Temps was in the low 30's that day, no one had any grip. Lots of spins and cone penalties for everyone. I was running with 36psi up front and 40psi in rear on street tires. Once they got up to temp they avereaged 40psi and 44psi. I thought rear handled fine, it was the front tires that couldn't handle all the cornering. Definitely will have better tires before we race at VIR Patriot course next month.

Here are the times in the novice class

1 976 Raymond Mann S60R 57.756
2 952 Darren Brown M3 58.796
3 64 Jared Walker GTI 58.897
4 53 Mitch Gurski WRX STi 59.502
5 123 Michael Pratt 350Z 59.533
6 975 Chris Miller GTI 59.881
7 133 Billy Ju Maxima 60.506
8 114 Jordan Robinson MR2 SC 61.025
9 66 James Goins Mustang GT 61.105
10 911 Brian Davis Sentra SE-R Spec-V 61.995
11 954 Jeremy Karlin IS300 62.640
12 13 Liz McAdory Impreza WRX 62.661
13 977 Eddie Musick Mustang 63.082

Run 8 looked very good for novice class. I couldn't find much improvement except at 52sec where you could've taken the line you did on run6. Keep it up!
