wheels are 15x8 real racing imca mod lite, 5 inch back space, offset like .5 inch or 13mm
tires are 225/50/15, dont you wish you had stock size brakes still
the wheel it is sitting next to is a 225/50/15 kumho 711 on 6.5 inch wheels, the tread on the v710 is about 1 inch wider than the 711
after a rough visual inspection i think i could fit a 15x10 inch wheel on there with a set of 23x10x15 slicks... maybe next season if the car lasts till then
Very nice. And the 23.9" diam will help acceleration and gearing a bit too. Just watch the rear's sliding. Maybe play with the pressures to help generate some heat on the backs to prevent that?
oh yeah my goal for saturday is to beat that pesky green civic in DSP

I may have to bail. I have one more day to figure this crap out. Just replaced front right caliper where the noise was coming from...no dice. still there. Both front wheel bearings are replaced. Both driveaxles are new. I'm completely stumped now.
Noise is directly related to brakes....unrelated to how hard of a curve I'm on, and goes away immediately if brakes are applied even lightly.
Tomorrow I'm going to re-rebuild the front left. If that doesn't fix it I'm putting stock brakes back on (will have to buy some pads). If that doesn't fix it I'm setting the motherf-cking car on fire and filing an insurance claim..
Im now 99% sure its one of the pistons of the front left caliper seizing up and not retracting, thus making a loud moaning noise when making any kind of right turn (slight or hard)...it only goes away if I touch the brakes (even lightly).
How have I brilliantly narrowed it down to this?
- both front wheel bearings - new
- reman'd RF caliper on today (waste of money since the old one was apparently fine)
- new R/L driveaxles
- the rest of suspension has been checked and is good to go.
Wife drove in circles in a parking lot with me for a while tonight and her expert ears pinpointed the sound as "front left, definitely."
I don't even want to deal with rebuilding the LF caliper again - I just ordered a reman'd one overnighted to me by Friday...so should be good to go.
i gained nearly 5 seconds on a 50 second course, basically i hardly spin the tires at the start, i can brake much later, turn faster, and accelerate out of the turns earlier with almost no wheel spin. i was really driving close the limit of the tires to gain 5 seconds though.

yeah...I love my V710's! too bad on our heavy cars, they won't last long at all like they do on those miatas and civics! what size are you guys running? I am running the 245/45/17's...
mine are 225/50/15 but they are way oversize, i mean, the tread width is 9.25" and the overall width on 8" wheels is 9.6". when the tire is off the rim the overall width is 10.25". they really belong on a 9" wheel but im thinking about stretching them to a 10" wheel on my next set.
