Replaced Bose Sound is not good fixed

Yaw.... Hello

Just replaced my 2002 bose Headunit with Kenwood DPX308U
and the sound quality is not good as my bose used to sound.. for starter it,s not loud which is not big deal for me but the Bass is terrible whens u crank it up the sound gets distorted and u can barley hear anything//

which brings to my question is it possible i did not wire it properly

i used Metra 70-7551 harrhess

this is the wires i used

blue/white = amp on
orange= illumination=
2 black= ground
blue = antenna
4 Rca 1 for each speaker

did i mess some wiring i don't recall seeing sub woofer wire

it took me 4 hour to install

here are some pictures

do u guys think i will get better quallity with this harrness

PAC ROEMNIS2

On the 6th gen that there are two different harness's. One that supplies the bose amp with a pre-amp signal and on that supplies a speaker level signal. I have read that the speaker level performs much better with the bose system then the pre-amp. The head unit you selected is only putting out 2v on the pre-amp outputs. The factory unit put out at least double that and the bose amp does not have a gain adjustment as aftermarket amps do.

I would just cut the RCA ends off and splice them into the speaker level outputs on the receiver. But let some one else chime in with first hand experience with the 5th gen before you do that or order another harness.

the 5th Gen have two different adapters as well, on the sticky topic it recommended the harness i have+ crutch field shipped it with the head unit
thank you for your input it might be just i was looking for... one u say slice just the rca u mean keep the existing harrness i already connected and just connect the RCA to the new one or rewire everything

what you need to do is get the other harness slicing int the rcas isnt the right way being that the wires inside the rcas are 24 guage if you get the othe harness METRA make it its a 70-7550 it has speaker wires on it that are about 18-16 guage will be better for the performance of the radio

Looks like it's only running 2V pre-amp outs... You need a HU with at least 4V for the 70-7551 to work properly.

Read through this and you'll see what others are using:

No convertor. Either get a 70-7550 or just snip of the male ends of the RCAs from the 7551 and connect accordingly to the speaker wires on the HU.

Look in and straight down. There is a 10mm to each side that works fine. You only need one ground point.

i think that,s exactly where i grounded it.. you mean i can ground both cables to same location. one head unit, one trip computer ground.. i really don't feel like taking out the head unit and re grounding now it works little static but acceptable

Where did you get the 2-din faceplate?

Lt. Tealc,

Where did you get the 2-din faceplate? I can only find 1-din faceplates for a 2002 Maxima. Crutchfields and others say they don't exist but you have clearly found one.

Thanks.
