headunit mod shop

Can anyone recommend a shop or member here that's in the tampa area that could do a bypass so that video will work without the parking break being up?

I have a navigation app (Motion X drive) on my iphone but it won't work unless the parking break is up

you'll need a 12v relay. run the parking wire (lt green) to pin 30, ground both pins 87 and 86, run the remote (blue/white) to 85. 87a (center) won't be used.

or, wait for a tampa member to chime in. Im sure someone could help you but I'm sure you could do this

Theres a mechanical piece in this radio that does not allow for relay switches to work. They work but only up to 10mph it has a built in accelerometer. Since the app uses built in equipment of the radio it will knock it down. Im not 100% sure if there is a software hack yet. I looked and I couldn't find anything hope this helps.

^^ Read the 2 posts above yours. The newer units have other engineering in them that prevent electrical workarounds to work.

Also, sent you PM re: spare tire cover a while back, never heard from you. Requesting the courtesy of a response at least.

I'm fairly certain this mechanical piece you speak of is ONLY in the Pioneer NAV units, where you have to move a pin and ground it as well as ground another wire. Any DD Pioneer screen without NAV built in you can just use a relay and it will fully bypass.

1/3 correct. Any new Alpine is going to require a Pac TR7 to bypass video, pioneers you must either move pins or add a relay, and Kenwoods, yes all you need to do is ground a wire.
