Beat to death, Antenna Switch.
Ive read years old threads, trying to figure out this thing. Maybe I'm just retarded (lets not question that )
I'm trying to switch my antenna for my new JVC HU. Unsuccessfully so far. I have an old lighted switch that I'm using. It has 3 leads (ground, accessory, and light) Ive hooked it up as follows,
-Ground: to antenna wire (black with red stripe)
-Accessory: to blue wire off of amp interface.
-Light: fuse panel.
Ive switched the ground and accessory wires, but it didn't make a difference (two pole switch shouldn't matter). I have also unhooked the light wire, no difference there either.
I thought the wire i might of tapped into was the signal wire after the antenna didn't work off the switch. I proceeded to use the switch to see if it cut signal to the radio, and it didn't.
I'm lost here.

so you're trying to add a switch to your antenna wire, correct?
Ignore the light part about the switch. You need to open the antenna line (cut it right through), and on one end attach the middle pin, the other wire to the right side pin.. or vice versa, shouldn't matter. So essentially you need to open up the antenna wire, VIA the 2 switch wires.
