First time posting in this forum, or any audio related forum for that matter, so bare with me.

I have the BOSE subwoofer in my 5th gen, but as many know, the bass is lackluster. I want to take out the stock sub and place the Alpine SWE-1243e in the rear deck. It has the following specs: I already have the subwoofer and all of the neccesary wiring done, now I just need to pick out an amplifier to get the job done. What I ask from you, audio overlords, is for an amplifier suggestion. I know I can just pick any old amplifier but I want something tried and true that won't crap out on me.

rockford fosgate has "too much bass" they generate bass from someone talking...totally unnecessary, i prefer alpine

Heres the problem with replacing the bose sub well one of many....... the bose systems are quite often 2ohm and sometimes 1ohm... You can replace the bose speakers w 2 ohm systems with the Infinty Ref series while using the factory amp because Infinty runs their speakers at 2.2ohms and they are as close to matching the RMS wattage of the bose amps. I dont know the wattage on the Bose sub amp but I know they closely match the rms of the amp to the rms of the speaker. Thats how they get the decent sound while using low wattage.

If your just trying to get a cleaner bass sound take the sub out of the factory enclosure and get a nice prefab box for your new sub ported is the way to go for loud and sealed is the way to go for quality if your adding another amp into the pic don't worry about factory boss ohm loads their meaningless just match up your new setup ie sub and new amp
