my pathfinder headunit volume **** needs adjusting

alright so a while back i installed this pathfinder headunit.

the volume **** has thirty (30) different levels. however for some reason the whole scale of volume is wrong, and the absolute loudest ive ever listened to it has been 13.

i.e. each unit of volume is too big. how do i make it smaller?

basically i want the maximum tolerable volume to be in the high 20s - instead of the low teens.

does this have to do with the volume set on my OEM bose HU when i uninstalled it?

thanks.

this has to do with you mix/matching oem parts. you're using bose speakers correct?

well i'm goin to assume some things, let me know if i'm wrong anywhere.

you used a non-bose pathy which sends out a high voltage signal and wired it into a bose setup which is used to seeing a low voltage signal and amplifying it.

now the bose amp is amplifying a higher voltage signal, causing it to get louder sooner. get it?

Sounds right to me. Should have used a Bose pathy HU.

Or, you could insert an LOC between the HU and your wire harness. You'd have to 1- chop the RCA's off of the LOC and 2- splice the LOC in between the wires coming out of the HU and the wires going into the car.
