Need amp suggestions

I got a pair of rainbow comps a while back from don and finally decided I would like to add an amp as well. Besides the comps up front I have memphis coaxials in the rear with a pioneer premier head unit. I was looking to spend about $250 on a 4-channel amp but not sure what to look for really. I don't plan on adding a sub at all so would like an amp that has a nice bass boost in it. I was looking around on crutchfield and found one I think would be nice. What do you guys think? Or if you know of better let me know. Thanks

First of all you will not or better not ever run bass boost to components or coaxials, and not to subs either. I have a better amp that would REALLY compliment those rainbows well and power your other speakers. Let me know. $175 shipped, mtx 4300x.

Gotcha thanks I won't. I'm assuming it's a used amp? How old is it?

I have an Eclipse EA4000 that I'd sell you. Circa 2006, same specs as that Infinity, except Eclipse > Infinity. I have it bridged to my rainbows right now and they sing wonderfully!

PM me if you're interested.

Not sure how I feel about purchasing used electronics especially if it's pretty expensive since it would be out of warranty :/. I'm thinking about getting the Eclipse EA4200 instead of the infinity. Although when I was checking the rms numbers the infinity seemed to be rated higher. What do you guys think?

You might as well look for a XA4000, it does 100x4 @4 vs the 65 or 75x 4 @4.

That one is also $100 more so I may just go with this one. It's also a lot cheaper on here than I saw on crutchfield. I never heard of the site before but it was on eclipse's site as an internet dealer so it looks like a good deal.

thats a good amp, but that price still seems high to me. I feel like for 300 you could do better, its only 65x4...

perhaps PM Don (Pearl96Max) and see what he has laying around for that price, i bet you he'll find something better..

Yeah i'll just be patient. It took a little while to get in touch with him last time when I ordered the rainbows off him, but they were worth the wait so i'm sure he has some nice amps laying around too. Thanks for the help. Also do you know how much it costs to get a 4 channel amp installed? I called a place by me and they said $130, is that good?

If your going used.. check out local pawn shops.. i got my Alpine V12 mrv-F407 for dirt cheap at one.. and it was part of the top of the line series Alpine amps back in the day.. Just make sure to test every channel ect.. they give you like a 30 day return policy..

130 isn't bad but you could save a bit doing it yourself I just did mine for the first time last month and was a bunch of fun and everything went perfect. I have a JL G4500(i love it) which I think would be perfect for you got mine off of Ebay New months back for 180 which was a steal. There is a couple decent Ebay vendors who have plenty for sale in your range:

Um you can buy JL anywhere but they only honor there warranties thru authorized dealers such as Crutchfield. But thats the problem its not worth MSRP so buying used or Ebay isn't that bad plus some vendors will offer free replacement on there own if something happens. And Im not sure what you mentioned power for because out of all the amps mentioned so far the G4500 has the most and fell in his price range.

That one's a bit pricey for me. I'm looking to spend around 250-300 atm. Although maybe I can raise it some, how much did you pay for it?

I ended up going with the Rianbow amp from Don . I called the audio place I have gone to in the past and it's now $180 to get it installed and that seems kind of a steep to me. So does anyone know a place in south jersey where I could get it installed? Also I guess i'll just ask here, the **** on my Pioneer Premier unit fell off the other day so I just super glued it back on (lol) but is there a way to replace that part?
