Trouble runnin amp wire through dash/firewall
I searched so I'd really rather not hear people complaining...
ANYWAYS
I need help getting the amp wire to the engine bay. I actually ran it through the fender and through the door but when the door closes it bends the wire too much. This caused my battery to die yesterday morning. Sooo are there are places I can run the wire through without drilling?
Any help is appreciated <333

hey what size wire are you running??? I managed to get a 8awg thru the abs hole(or whateva it is) without problems but it was kinda tight so anything bigger you might have some problems with. Its behind the wheel well (take off splash gaurds) and has a single wire going thru it you have to pull out the grommet and feed it thru

I hear you on not wanting to drill. I was trying to avoid it too but I ended up drilling the same spot that slot where the clutch would be.. hit it with some rustoleum and a grommet and claled it a day. I didn't have to take anything apart to get my drill in there either, just use a step drill bit and it goe's through like butter with little force. The step drill bit makes a huge difference if you resort to drilling :-)

I'm not sure how it is for 5th+ gens, but in my 4th gen, there's already a hole with a grommet for a bundle of wiring if you take the wheel well plastic off. You can either try to squeeze it in there, or if you're lazy, cut a hole in the grommet with a razor/screwdriving and feed it through.
I know it's probably not the best way, but it worked for me.

Your going to have to take off the fender or half way take it off to get the wire or wires through nicely. And by the fuse box in the engine bay, there should be a small place to run the wire or wires through.

Fortunately nissan provided a nice drill spot covered with a removal patch so I used that. I'm assuming that where the clutch goes...

this is what i found when I typed "firewall 5th guage" as a search...

... and I believe this is an alternate for 4th gen owners as well even though 4th gen owners have the privilege of a pre drilled hole to accomodate a 0 guage wire.

IMO you really should drill a hole in the firewall. Use a small bit to create a pilot hole and then use a larger bit to finish off the job. The power wires are not meant to be in a "moving" condition as Im thinking they are in your ride...getting a pinch or break in the plastic covering over your power line could be a disaster if it happends...not only would it short out your entire system...but there is no telling the kind of personal injury that could result depending on the load on the wire.
Drill a hole through the firewall and make sure you fit a grommet into the hole BEFORE you run the power wire through it...the metal will be very sharp and the grommet protects the wire from being cut or damaged
