Navigation System Install ques...

There are 3 wires from the HU that I am unsure as to whether I need to connect, and if I do- where to access the wires on my 5th gen.

I know that there are some wires that do not allow you to use funct. of your nav. system and have the ability to watch movies while you are moving. I do NOT want to enable these features, so I don't know whether to just not connect these wires or if you need to trick them with a 12volt power source.

The three in question are:
1. Car Speed Signal Input (says it detects distance the vehicle travels and
nav. errors will occur if not connected)
2. Reverse Gear Signal Input (says it might not show the vehicle aligned
correctly if not connected)
3. Parking Brake On/Off Status Input (says if not connected certain nav.
features will be unusable)

The HU is a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT. So any input as to whether these need to be connected, and if they do will I not be able to watch movies / control certain nav. functions while moving. AND if I do need to connect them where do I access those wires in the car??

This nav. install is becoming alittle less fun. Hopefully it'll all work out when its done.

Speed sense is not 100% necessary but definitely recommended if you want your navigation to know exactly where you are. I tapped mine behind the gauge cluster, I think the wire is pink/blue.

Reverse isn't really needed. It will align the car somewhat but you're not missing out on anything by not having it, unless you have a back up camera, in which case this wire makes the head unit automatically switch over to the camera input. If you want to do this, I tapped mine in the driver kick panel harness to rear, I think it was green/white.

Parking brake is also definitely needed. Depending on whether you want to completely bypass the dvd lockout feature or not, you might want to read up on how to do so at avic411.com, because there are how-to's with pics for doing so.

EDIT I just saw in your other thread that your car is an 03. Mine is an 00...the wiring colors may not be the same, I don't recall offhand.
