4x25 enough to power front channels?

Dudes,

I got some free amps this weekend... one is a sub amp and the other is a very old school Kenwood amp rated at 4x25 @ 4 ohms. My question is, would that Kenwood be enough to run my two front speakers? I would prob wire up the woofers and tweeters on individual channels. There are no provisions for x-overs and the like on the amp; I'm debating even using it at all. LMK

do you have crossovers for the speakers already?
you'd be better off bridging it to 2 channel and using the crossovers that came with the speakers.

that said, 25w isn't a lot. if you don't like your music incredibly loud, it'll work okay. I'd say 50w is a minimum for decent sound.

Post the model of the amp..

It might be a bit underrated......you never know. Depending on how old the amp is. It might be one of thoes surprizes.

Are you attempting to add them to the stock speakers?

Anyways, 25 watts isn't a whole lot of power...if the total impedance is 4 ohms (one woofer, one tweeter wired in parallel), and provided they have some form of crossover network, then I would run the amp bridged for the fronts...It does 70rms x 2 bridged...

Stock speakers or aftermarket?? The BOSE, if you have them run off of 25 watts. If you have aftermarket, more than likely you will need more for it to sound decent. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Going aftermarket (Dayton RS-180s to be exact )

Though I may just wire them up to the stocks for now.
