Eclipse AVN

I have been reading about the Eclipse AVN6620 and comparing it to the Alpine IVA-W205. I am stuck b/tween a rock and a hard place on which one to get. What do you guys suggest?? Don't know which way i'm leaning yet.

Can't go wrong with either, however the IVA requires the bluebird for nav.. IIRC>

If I Remember Correctly. (IIRC)

sorry, no opinions on either of those decks. I"ve been shopping for something similar and have not had any luck deciding.

Ninjaedit: No video ipod functionality on the eclipse. If that's important to you.

True, but the IVA-W205 + Blackbird can run up to $1600.

So true, but I didn't get an Ipod to play videos in the car. Just 4 nonstop tunes. Videos would be nice I guess but don't really care for that right now.

Thanks for the input folks!!!! N E one else??

If you keep videos to a disc then no worries .. dual drive on the Eclipse. Plus who else can beat..

3 year warranty
1st year over the counter exchange (if a problem arises)
Replacement coverage if in the event that the unit gets stolen.

Superior unit, plus all that to back it up should make it an easy choice.

That's a CON then right? You make it sound good that it's more expensive than the eclipse..unless I totally read it wrong.
Ipod adapter is VERY good on the eclipse. Menus work just like the ipod itself...very intuitive.

8 disc Cd Changer too.
Don't forget Mp3 CD's...about 10 hours of music on one CD.
80GIG ipod.....

This thing can do it all and the navigation is TOP NOTCH. At the price it's at now it's a GREAT unit and I think is far superior than what alpine is offering.

U read it right. I just said it wrong. You are right, The Eclipse is a far superior HU at less money than the IVA. Just want to make sure I don't spend my money in the wrong way. Thanx guys.

the eclipse is a better unit for the money. Unless you want the nav part to be portable, but if you only use 1 car then you're all set.

Nice... Do you have any pics in the daylight?? How's the spacing around the HU with the GXE kit?? If that's what you have. I'm trying to get a list of stuff so I can get everything and then take a weekend and get it all installed one time, hopefully. I'm still stock for now. Shouldn't be too bad though, huh? Thanx.

see im in the same undecisive boat as you guys, i been comparing between the pioneer d3 and eclipse 6620. D3 in appearance looks alot better i think, as you can set the lighting on it to match your interior but i hear the nav on it is crap. while eclipse has amazing nav and amazing sound quality for aftermarket speakers its look is not that great and only comes witht he factory led which i dont think u can replace without voiding warranty etc. and the d3 is alot cheaper. anyone have the d3 to comment on how they like the nav on it?

same here iceman, i did it through ebay after alot of research but if u guys want a online retailer then goto cartronixplus.com, they seem to have good reviews according to avic411.com and the prices are unbeatable unless you buy on ebay. I bought mine for $1003.00 cad in total including shipping and that includes the bluetooth module aswell. And the shipper promised to send it as a repair so i hope that helps with customs.

So ya saved a few bucks and end up with zero warranty. Also lost the theft coverage and advanced exchange. Hope it was worth it.

crutchfield doesnt have the eclipse avn6620 and from what i understand, the warranty is void if you remove the blocker. i still havent payed yet so i could just take an ebay unpaid strike lol but i think from everyplace i looked its a good deal to canada?

Remove what 'blocker'? What in the world are you talking about? Ive been a dealer for the past decade and I have no clue what this 'blocker' is that you speak of.
