Bass blockers

Are bass blockers necessary? I plan on using a 400W 4 channel amp to power some polk db650's. I don't want to install the new speakers to find out later I need bass blockers. Any advice.

Doesn't your amp have a low-pass filter?

If your amp doesn't have a built in crossover you can always go to radio shack and get some compacitors to filter the speakers and they will be a bit cheaper than bass blockers.

will you need some method of stopping low frequencies from reaching your interior speakers? yes.

that may be crossover (in the head unit, seperate, in the amp) or bass blocker
