Building box for 2 12's. Need help/ ideas

I am going to be building a box very soon for 2 12's. I have put together plenty of systems but this will be the first box that I have built. The subs need a recommended 1.0 of air space. I want to maximize my trunk space so I came up with this round ball size. 30x15x11. I want to use 2 aeroports also.

As you all can tell, I'm not 100 percent sure of these numbers. I wanted to go with 1 15, but the torsion bars in the trunk won't let me build a flush box at all.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Can't really give you a recommendation.....but need to ask where you got or are getting the aeroports from. I've been hunting for those for a while and my sources dried up.

www.partsexpress.com for aero's.

1.0 is going to be way too small for any 15" especially ported. OH and 30x15x11 is 2.115 cu ft. assuming .75 mdf. With 2 aero's and sub dislpacement you'll probably be at around 1.8 or so.

Yeah I have the same issue that you would have with the 15 and the torsion bars. I barely have any trunk space

1.0 is for the 12's. I know that wouldn't be enough for a 15. I wish I could use the same ( give or take) dimensions and use one 15 instead of 2 12's.

Simple $30 upgrade for 4th gen owners. I took out the torsion bars and put struts in. THe struts have a lifetime warrenty on them. I like the struts b/c you don't slam the trunk down and you can leave it open at diff. angles and it won't slam down. Opens up lots of install possibilities. That will solve your problem with the torsion bars. Takes less than an hour to do. I will post my finished trunk when I am done with it.

Now on with the pics:

Hope it helps I can do a write up if you need.

Oliver

Hey, ZAZN2DMAX, could you do a write up? I am definitely gonna do that and run the single 15 like I wanted to. Are those factory hood struts?

Trunk opens all the way, just wanted to show you that it doesn't slam shut. I will post a write-up soon. And the struts are $15 each with lifetime warrenty.

Can you post a picture of it opening up all the way.
Do you have the model number for the Struts?
