I'm looking at the:
Clarion DXZ615
Alpine CDA-7873
Pioneer DEH-P7300

I've already got a set of Soundstream SPL's in my car, being driven by the stock deck. I'm not too concerned about volume and they seem to play okay, so I'm not considering an amp at this time.

Any other recommendations, or opinions on the above choices? I loved the older Clarion DRX6675z and am not quite as excited about the newer units from them. I've got a cheap Kenwood in another vehicle, but it's not that great of a unit. I've had recommendations for Alpine, Clarion, Nakamichi, and Blaupunct, but very little on specific models.

I'm hearing good things about JVC's current MP3 unit as well... but I can pass on MP3 for now.

Opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

i may be selling my Eclipse HeadUnit for $300+shipping. It mondel #5504, paid $650 for it a year ago. Still has 2 years on theft warranty, also *** remote. You will need an external amp for it cause it has x3 5volt RCA's with sub out . Let me know.

Doh!

No money for amp. It's new hood struts, fuel filter, and a couple other things, or a head unit...

I need to save money first. I'm not even buying the head unit immediately... but soon!

I'd go with the Pioneer. It's the boring (maybe) but safe choice. I've never been less than very satisfied with the Pioneer headunits that I or my friends have bought.
