The problem wasn't with all of the 360's. There was a time period where the 360's were being built in 3 different countries and out of all the 360's released to the public only a small amount were having trouble and were narrowed down to a specific plant. Plus Microsoft has already agreed to replace the troubled 360's immediately. All you have to do is call the 800# on the box for support and report it. Believe it or not its actually a good number and very helpful considering the company behind it and all the stories of dred. In any event, its a very minor set back if at all and most people who reported problems already got another one.
Also just to shake what some people are saying here as truth about the ps3 being better than the 360, and how the graphics will look better because of "the way its displayed on the screen" all need to just shut up. The ps3 hasn't launched yet so you can't make a comparison. Also most "ps3" game videos released to date are pre-rendered. 90% of the 360 videos are realtime in game play. The ps3 gpu is definately no where near as good as the ATI developed gpu in the 360. It basically goes back to what another poster said. It user preference, now if you took an Xbox and a Ps2 and put them side by side in the same game - lets say tiger woods 2k5 - The xbox beats it visually in every way. Now while some people seem to think otherwise its a proven fact the xbox is better. Of course the ps2 is backwards compatible and the ps3 will be as well, but that doesn't make any of the old games look any better. Im not saying it will playing backwards compatible games on the 360, but honestly just playing perfect dark zero or Kameo or King Kong on the 360 in 720p (HDTV) it stunning and I will be very surprised if Sony can make their games look that good.
Also, this just in for people who care. It has already been discussed that the ps3 will have an MSRP of about 700-800 dollars. This was some weeks ago when it was said. Now newer news suggest that Blu-Ray technology is far to expensive for an average consumer and it is losing its backing. This could mean the ps3 wont have blu-ray and if it does then it may cost more than 800 dollars and games printed on blu-ray media could be as much at 80 dollars a title.
