Need a sub amp

I have two Solobarics S12L5 (with the black cone). RMS power = 1200 combined and Max handling is 2400. They came with a sony 1600 watt amp but it doesn't give out any audio output so I might as well get something larger. I am wondering on this brand and this is a nice price Click Here I am looking to spend around 250 for an amp that can give me a little extra boost. Right now they will be powered by a Pyramid 2400 watt 2 ohm stable amp. I haven't hooked it up yet but if I like the output then I might just stick with it. (I got it for $58 shipped so you can't argue that)

Thats a big negative on that kingwood its more than likly just over rated to high hell and wont get you no where near the numbers listed.....The 58$ pyramid doesnt sound tooo bad, manly cause its jsut 58 bucks....but its in the same boat as kingwood....just a big flashy number on the box, but i wouldnt buy the kingwood to replace the pyramid thats for sure....as far as another amp for around 250, i did some searchin and didnt find much at that range alot i saw were pushin 300-350 bucks(kickers, rockfords ect.) maybe seomone else will have some good suggestions

I would look at class d, I don't know what Sony you had, was it their class d? I would try two of those which you should be able to pick up for about $140 a piece shipped. If not I would try to find an MTX or Coustic class d. Hifonics makes some good high power low cost amps too.

if 2ohm, planet audio p2250d does a real 1500+ watts @ 12.xx volts (under 250shipped)

I am loving the numbers. If I see them available next week then they're mine.

Does it really do a real 1250/1500 watts cuase I just see that hard to believe with it being generic, low priced, and not very well known.

Yes, they produce rated results.

The 2250D/2500D will produce the full 1500 @less than 13v but they will only produce 2500 @14-14.4 they will produce 2250@under 13v

the 1250D model produces full rated power at under 13v. Mine was benchtested 1263@12.9v

Good stuff... I've been lookin for a decent priced amp for a while now and I came across this amp and Hifonics, and I know even though Hifonics is like 20 bucks more than planet audio they also produce real RMS. But now I think i might go with Planet Audio

these are refurbished though so take that into account. IF you want one of these new they cost a good bit more. I've bought like 4 amps from that ebay seller though and all worked 100%

I am sticking to my cheapo amp. It's actually a Legacy LA2070. That thing knocks hard and I played it about %65 volume for around 3 hours. When I touched it afterwards it was a little warm but since I started knocking it from day 1 I am satisfied to spend $58 on a decent amp for the price.
