I bought, off the net, at antennaemastsareus for $12 and followed the instructions from the how to stickies. 20 minutes and done. All you need is needle nose pliers and a rag.

Can you put those short black antennas on a 4th gen and are they any good? I have a GXE so mine doesn't have a power antenna. I listen to the radio alot so Im not going to shave it off.

This is a very easy job.

1. Turn off radio.
2. Go to rear of car use "antenna key" or a pair of needle nose pilars and unscrew the silver ring.
3. Have someone turn on the radio as you pull upward gently (not to brake the cable) on the mast.
4. Verify the mast cable is not broken. If it is, you have to take the whole motor and everything out and take it apart to get all the pieces out. If its not broken then put in the replacement mast (that you bought from the dealer/auto zone/etc) back in.
5. Have someone turn off the radio again while you shove the cable back into the motor until it catches. Once it catches guide it back in.
6. Put the silver ring back on and tighten it down.
7. Finally, turn on the radio to verify that the mast goes up all the way.
