Kicker L7 or something else??

Kicker L7 or Rockford Fosgate 3112??
I'm sure alot of people have opinions on the L7's. Right now I have an AUDIOBAHN ALUM12Q and a 10Q. I've read peoples thoughts about the AUDIOBAHNS' and they didnt favor well with most, even though they pound to me. I have an MTX 225HO running them. Anyways, I thought about upgrading to a better sub and someone mentioned the L7 in a ported box or the RF 3112. Would that be a good choice for my amp, which is 700+ watts at 1 ohm? Does anyone have any suggestions on the two? Thanks

ok.
An L7 is made for extreme SPL. In a vented enclosure i think they are one of the best subs you can buy. they win tones of competitions. They can also be purchased much and i mean MUCH cheaper then a W7. A W7 is a great sub. great SPL and better SQ imo then a L7. but they are extremly expensive a 12 inch L7 which takes 1500w RMS costs 200 bucks with a 1 year warenty. the W7 costs about 3 times as much as far as i know. I'd get to 12 inch L7's in a vented enclosure and tune it. Power each sub with 700rms. these things eat up power. talk about amazing thump for your money. There is a nice MA audio amp they can be bought for around 500 bucks online that will throw out 750rms @ 2 ohm which happens to be exactly what the kickers work best at. make sure you power them correctly. lots of power = goodness

I have a 12 L7 powered by a rockford fosgate 1000bd. its in a 4 cube box. i have yet to get it metered, but maybe within a week or two i can have it done. it has really nice deep bass, but if you want more sq then go for a w7, if you can afford that is. crystal mobile audio have really good subs too. i forget the model line up, but its the top one. i read a comparsion article about it, and it won. the sq was really good, and it is loud too. personally if i had the money i'd get the crystal mobile audio sub.

MA Audio makes extremly good amps. i doubt anyone would disagree. great for competition. check out maaudio.com personally i like the last few years models in terms of looks but great amps. and they have some big *** subs too....but i like kicker alot...but then again if i could afford 2 W7s i'd take them over the L7s in a minute...and while some say L7s are sloppy as the guy said in that link above its all in the install i'v seen L7s in a super tight sealed box and i mean this thing was reinforced like a monter it sounded great i never thought an L7 could have that type of SQ. but i would say i am biased to kicker.

I like the L7...as a matter of fact I will be going for 2 12" L5's in my next set up now, because they offer amazing SPL for the price. However, some great alternatives to those for the money, are Elemental Design K series, Beyond Audio X-One's and Resonant Engineering SE's. I notice a lot of people are suggesting W7's.....do you realise the price difference among the 2 subs? I have seen a L7's go for 180-200 USD online. If you are set on going for a single sub system though, check out a single Resonant Engineering HC....awesome sub IMO. Before people start throwing the name W7 out there...realise there are products that can compete for far less money...eg. the Adire Audio Brahma and Better Audio D2 which both use an awesome xBL^2 technology.
For an amp, I would not touch MA audio...especially for 500 USD...but that is just my own opinion

i like the rockford sub in a vented box only.
on the other hand the kicker works very well in sealed, vented & band-pass.
i will say again it will all depend on the install.
i think that the W7 is over priced & over rated.
good luck on your pick.
