Are FWD and RWD VQ block to bellhousing bolt patterns the same?

I know this is a ridiculous question coming from me since I've had RWD VQ transmissions and FWD VQ transmissions sitting right next to each other for like the last two years, but I never bothered to compare them, and now I don't have them sitting right next to each other (one is in IL, the other in MI).

Does anyone know if the bolt patterns are the same or largely the same between RWD and FWD VQ blocks?

Also somewhat related in my twisted mind, did the VQ30DET (RWD) ever come in a car with a manual transmission?

They aren't exactly the same. A lot of people mate a fwd block to a rwd tranny, but they have to use the rwd upper/lower oil pan. The vq30det only came with an auto.

Where's broaner when you need him?
He put a VQ30 in his S13... but yeah I think you have to swap the oil pans.. not a huge deal really. might check the VQ-240 forums for into on their swaps. I've seen several VQ30s in S-chassis cars.
