Ok first off I searched. Please dont flame me, I am just looking for help. I'm not willing to do a 3.5 swap.
The Facts: 95 Maxima GXE 5spd; cheaply obtainable VQ30DE-K out of a 2000 Maxima GLE
I had a complication with my stock motor. Bottomline I am looking at internal problems and swapping is cheaper and faster. Its not my Daily and its not my Project(race) car ... its kinda in between. That said I dont want to spend much putting it back together and I'm not looking to make it really fast. I have come across a good deal on a 2000 VQ30DE-K and wondered whats involved in this swap.
It looks straight forward but I am wondering if my harness, ecu, axles, ac compressor, etc will work. Any info would be much appreciated I need to jump on the motor before insurance pick the car up.
Yes all the 3.0 parts you listed should bolt right up.
For the harnesses you will need the injector clips off the 2000 and solder them in. and you will need the harness off the vias as well. but other then that you should be good to go.

I have read all the information on how to use the 00 intake manifold on my motor but what I am looking to do is the whole swap. I'll be finding out tomorrow if my bottom end is damaged and if so I can get the motor from my friend for 250.00. What I want to do is drop his motor in my car. It has 42,000 miles but the rear end on the car found out what happens when a drunk driver in a Yukon going 55+mph hits you when your sleeping peacefully on the curb in front of your house. His epic fail will hopefully work out as a good gain for me.
I have a question as well, from what I have read, for this swap you need an RPM switch, but the original 00-01 Maximas dont have an RPM switch, so why would we need them if we are using the whole engine? Will having an 00-01 ecu eliminate the need for an rpm switch? Sorry, not tryin to thread jack....

pretty much the only eletrical is the harness clips for the injectors and vias, other than those everything else is PnP. You will have to use the 4th gen evap and egr equipment though(not so PnP) if you need emissions.
The bottom end of a de-k is damn near identical to a de. If you want you can use the 4th gen lower to use the 4th gen injectors so you wont be so rich.

It's basically the same thing. It'll bolt right in, then you have to modify your vacuum line routing and whatnot for the 00VI.

Yes, using an A33 ECU will eliminate the need for a $40 RPM switch...after you spend how many hundreds of dollars and hours of labor to swap in the entire engine control harness, modify it to fit your car, install the NATS IMMU and NATS antenna amp, run that wiring so the immobilizer works...
Spend the $40 on an RPM switch, seriously.
