A Vision Motorworks 80MM High Flow throttle body for the 1998-2004 Chevrolet LS-1 and GEN III engines with the cable style throttle body. Vision Motorworks went to the best throttle body manufacturer in the world and bought hundreds of these to be able to get this quality piece to you at an incredible price. These throttle bodies are as good or better than anything being made by Edelbrock, BBK, Professional Products etc...
Since I own an LS1 engine, I can confirm that the LS1 throttlebody does not work on the VQ35 or any other Nissan etc. Besides the IACV and TPS signals being wrong, the bolt pattern is definitely wrong.
The VQ35 manifold takes the N1 TB based on a few Japanese guys doing VQ swaps into S13/S14's etc. However, I have an N1 TB floating around which I can measure for confirmation this weekend. It is slightly larger than an SR20 bolt pattern and is the same as the SR20VET flange.
It's a steep invoice for a 70mm TB... You can take a stock TB and have it bore to 69-70mm, it only cost 100-150$ - I dont recall how much I paid for but it was done professionally.

now the next question is how big is the hole in the intake behind the TB? putting a 100mm throttle body on an intake with a 60mm hole wont do much good.
yes i know the intake can be bored out and yadda yadda but im just wondering what it is stock? also how big is the stock throttle body?

Hmm... I wish we just had something that bolted to the 00VI manifold with a larger opening port...
I honestly think the Pathfinder throttle body is large enough for a N/A DE-K. Its 70 or 75mm IIRC, and boring out the DE-K plastic manifold so flow wont be impeded, was already pushing the structure of the throttle body opening on the manifold.. Imagine 80mm. I dont even think 100mm will bolt on, it'll slip right over it since its so big.

On a DEK intake manifold, the diameter of the bracket between the IM and TB is about 57mm in diameter, now when you remove it and measure the opening of the IM, from top to bottom is about 59mm and from right to left is 56mm ( it's not round but more like an oval ). I see it's possible to bore it and maybe shave 1/4" to 1/2 roughly, that would increase the IM opening to maybe around 65-70 mm.

Well you also have to take into account the flow around the TB plate itself. In other words, a 70mm TB may only have the efficiency of a 65mm piece of tubing, due to the flow being reduced by the interuption of the TB plate... Sure it not much, but 70mm tb on a 65mm UIM port would be great.
Also, going into a smaller UIM port would speed up the velocity... not sure what the effects would be on the air flow, but yeah...

ok so that snawers my questions for a DE-K intake now what about a VQ30 intake? ho wmuch can the stock intake be opened up?

I assume you're referring to the DE? Not sure what the stock port is, but I know that it couldn't be opened more than 5 mm on each side safely. The metal isnt that thick.

I have checked my DEK IM yesterday and I found out the the metal bracket between the IM and the TB is smaller than the TB. I'm not to sure what this bracket is for but it is possible to increase the diameter but that would imply some custom work, ie: cutting and welding. The IM boring could only take few minutes to accomplish with air tool. I'm going to modify the bracket to at least have the same diameter as the TB and port match with the IM. I will post some pics tonight to support my explanations.

AA, most of us simply remove that metal bracket. There have been speculations for its purpose for a while, but I dont remember anyone having any 'proof' of it being useful... so most of us just dont use it.

I took a look at it tonight and I would say that this bracket is mainly for structural purpose, but it also to deflect the air flow a little. I'm going to modify it so it have the same diameter than the TB. I like the idea of keeping the plate between the IM and TB and make sure it's tight and there is no leak.

SR16VE N1 70mm TB will bolt to the maxima VQ35 stock intake manifold BUT you need to enlarge the stock bolt holes in the manifold flange and retap OR use an 8mm drill bit and drill right through the holes and then use a long bolt and a nut on the back.
VQ35 manifold flange is 72mm stock, so a 70mm TB will create a great venturi effect.
