need help 3.5 findanza flywheel + 3.0 timing ring

OK i did i did some searching but didn't really get me no where. i got 4th gen with a 3.5 6 speed swap. clutch went on the car so I'm going to change the clutch and while Im in there do a lightened flywheel. now this is the question how do i use the 5 speed timing ring bc i know u have to like pre drill the timing ring but it doesn't seem to line up for the pre drilling of the holes bc the ring has a slight angle to it when it comes down which interferes with pre driiling bc u would be drilling out the agle part and would not sit surfaced with the flywheel properly. i was looking around and seen that u have to cut off the angled part to sit flush but just want to confirm b4 i start hacking away at my only 5 speed timing ring. thanks for looking
