Only 8 inches cut in the firewall? Sure the crank pulley is not sitting in your bumper bar cause I have the RB26 block I pulled from my GTR and did some measurements.
I assume your using an RB25 sump as well or stick to the RB26 sump? Do you have access to the sump brackets to get the RB25 gearbox to work?
Is the power steerin rack clearing the hump in the sump alright since the FWD's run a high rack position.

So your using a RWD power steering rack? Cause at the moment the Maxima power steering rack is sitting where the bellhousing should be. The rack either needs to be 6" lower unless you intend on going through the rack but that causes problems with the FWD hubs lining up with tie rods.
I saw the fact your running it in RWD, I just measured up the block length and bellhousing and you need more than 8" of firewall movement to get the gearbox bolted up. Measure the distance between the radiator support and the original firewall and you will see what I mean.

Haha, Nice.
Yeah MaxxKid has been hitting me up with this for quite some time now. I too was skeptical but he seemed determined and was fully aware of what the cost/work needing to be done to make this work.
I give him props for continuing to move forward and not looking back.
IF for some reason this doesnt work out, at least hes been the first to take it this far.

Keeping in mind the average RB26 weighs around 250Lbs more than a VQ30, so front structural bracing will need a LOT of work as well. Do the Maxima hubs still line up with the lowered steering rack with that angle without causing bump steer issues?

we had to adjust it and extend the rods cause the control arms are lower but as far as the engine staying in place its really solid

Wow, Traffic Blocking making a name. I might have to visit that shop next time I'm in N.Y. Or at least get a couple rides in those projects. Watch out for little kids trying to cross Linden Blvd lol.

would a steering rack out of a 240sx or older 200sx or even a 300z be a idea to get it off the fire wall and out of the way?

Look at a RWD car and you can see the tie rod attaches below the wheel bearing centreline but most FWD's attach above the centreline for this reason. The steering rack needs to be in line with the hub
I urge you to have the front suspension geometry sorted out. Engine swaps are good but if they compromise the way the car behaves on the road, then they end up no fun and quickly become a money pit

i forgot to put in there to use the hub and everything since he's going to RWD and not AWD he will not need the FWD hubs he should be able to take from the lower ball joint out and bolt up the RWD hub (might have to some fab) but from what I'v seen under nissan cars FWD and RWD there is usually the 3 bolt set up for the lower ball joint (irrc) that would put the rack infront of the cross member and he would have a proper RWD set up. Any way that was my though when I was thinking about doing that to my 2nd gen (I have issues sleeping at time and stuff like this goes though my head, I have about 5 car builds and 3 different engine builds rooming around up there)
