cant get front timing cover off 3.0
^^^^^^^^^it is sticking around where the crank pulley was, am I missing something? hidden bolts that I cant see, also do I have to take off the oil pan to get off front or rear timing case? thanks

Are you certain that all the 10mm head bolts have been removed? There is one just above the crankshaft nose that likes to hide.
Also, it will never come off with the upper oil pan in place.

Is this part of a motor swap and/or build or just maintenance? Either way, be sure to keep in mind that for proper reinstallation of the outer cover the upper oil pan should be off then installed secondary to the cover.

getting ready for 3.5 swap......thanks for the help everyone

Though if you're careful you can get the front cover sealed just fine with the upper pan in place.
It's funny how many people try to remove the timing cover without removing those two bolts that go through the upper oil pan...

Been there, done that...but I quickly screwed the timing cover and went to remove the pan in the whole dis assembly... felt stupid when I found those two.

Garage? I use a storage trailer and a parking lot
Yes, everyone should look at the how to's and FSM on what needs to be done at least twice before doing something major like this.

OP:
Check all bolts, like its been said Im sure the ones in the upper oil pan is what your forgetting. When you try to remove it be careful but semi forceful. If your feel resistance find out where the resistance is coming from and ensure there is no bolt there.
nice... luck you... I had space when i did my swap but you have AMPLE space!
