So, using a 2002, manual trans ECU (3L), will eliminate the CAN code, and allow the cruise to work?
I've been fighting with this in the Spec V chassis for a while, and never could figure out why the cruise wouldn't work.. even though it was all properly wired up.

Works for me. I switched from an auto ecu to manual for another reason (throttle opening on launch) but it fixed the cruise.

m/t ecu is gentler to open the throttle than a/t ECU on part throttle launching? or more abrupt? On the 1G Probe/MX-6 the a/t and m/t versions actually had different TB's.. with a dual-asymmetrical butterfly design. On a/t, the big one opened first then the little one... other way around for m/t.

DO NOT PM ME ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH YOUR CAR UNLESS I TELL YOU TO. THAT'S WHAT THE FORUM IS FOR

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's correct. I know the cruise control needs proper CAN function to operate. And without the correct automatic TCM sending the right signals to and from the ECU, then you'll have CAN codes and it will prevent the cruise from working. It makes perfect sense too that Jime mentioned he needs to lock up his torque converter in order for his 6spd ECU cruise control to work. For the cruise to work with an automatic, the TCM needs to be there and working properly in and out of converter lock up.

Did the 6spd ECU solve your throttle opening issue? I thought the ASCD single handily fixed that problem for you. I figured you got the 6spd ECU thinking it would fix your throttle opening problem, but didn't.
I will end up getting the ECU to fix my cruise issue. I still have not noticed a throttle opening issue though with my Auterra software. I did notice a slight hesitation in throttle opening speed sometimes, but unplugging the ASCD brake switch didn't do anything. I will experiment more with this when I get the 6spd ECU installed in my car. The ASCD brake switch thing may work only on the 6spd ECU. We'll see.

I have the CAN code, which I know that the 6spd ECU will eliminate, but, I have a ASCD switch code as well.. I wonder if the two go hand in hand..?
I can turn the cruise on right now, and it lights up on the dash, but, the "set" light blinks on/off.. I'm interested to see if this ECU fixes my problem.

Aaron the 6 spd ECU did not change the throttle problem, that was before i discovered the ASCD fix.
Travis the 6 spd ECU will fix that, its exactly the way mine was, it would just blink on and off and not set.

I have the same EXACT problem. Mine just blinks and I have an ASCD code most of the time. I will clear the codes and it will come back when I try to set the cruise control. The SET light blinks rapidly. That's b/c we have CAN errors that have to be solved first. A 6spd ECU won't have that problem.

Gotcha. Thanks.

I'd like to see what this car can do All Motor before I start messing around with nitrous. I probably won't put the bottle and a WOT TPS switch in my car until early next year at least.

Aaron!
So I start visiting the forums again and I see your company doing well and you doing a phenomenal project... way to go dude!
Once I get some money I may be coming to you for some spacers for my 5.5 I'm picking up this weekend!
