I felt like this would be the most appropriate forum to put this topic under,
Anyways I just finished up heat wrapping my Y-pipe, Headers (crappy xs power / ebay style ones) and test pipe
It went on well but what I realized after i applied the Silicon paint is that with one of the roles somewhere on the y-pipe I didnt wet the material before I applied it.
My quesiton is what will happen when I install the pipe with heat wrap that wasnt wet before applying it?
thanks

my bet is nothing will happen. perhaps it will smoke a lil more then usual but it should be fine.

Nothing will happen. Getting it wet just makes it easier to apply, that is all.

no, I actually got a whole role of it for free from a friend who bought a big multi pack for his down-pipe on his golf 1.8T. I just picked up a used y-pipe and it looked pretty crappy on the outside so I thought I may as well wrap it to cover up the pipe as well as I heard it can get rid of the "bees in a can noise". People tell me it adds HP but i dont believe that it will affect much if im not turbo.
But yea the wrap stays on fine, thanks guys, I jsut wanted to make sure the stuff wouldnt ignite while im driving haha.

Well My current set up is Warp speed y-pipe. Custom Test Pipe. Greddy Sp2. Its quite a loud set up with the test pipe but it doesnt really have the bees in the can noise, its a little smoother, a little like the 350z but definetly not the precision of equal length pipes
*edit, I forgot to mention, I never had the pipe in before the wrap so i cant compare if it actually made a difference
*also btw since i didnt wet the wrap it smoked like hell but eventually cured right
